After last year's entry I had concluded that I'd emptied the quiver on this one (an educational exercise but cost-to-benefit ratio unsatisfying) but then the other day I ran across a medieval curse that went on for over 700 words (would have been more in English translation with all the articles).

I figured if an 11th century bishop could get worked up enough to issue a curse of that magnitude, surely there are enough social media (in general) and Lit (specifically) annoyances to merit a 750 word curse in response here.

Since you can submit stories until Feb 28th, I think I'm going to wait a bit. The final list goes up March 1st, so obviously won't wait that long.

Been working on a fantasy one, but it's just not coming together like I want. A little too deep in to abandon it, but I might have to if I can't get past some issues.

I think we had some other challenge from DR13’s ‘Halloween At The Forum’ story, but now that I read you are publishing an Interracial 750 word story in my sand (litter) box (as am I), what do you say we make a friendly wager as to who gets more favorites by March 1st? I’m thinking a virtual beer. Based on my expectations of reader love for 750 word stories, one of us might win 1 to zero ! You in? Doesn’t look like mine will publish tonight, when will yours?

Seeing as I've been here since 2004 and still WELL under 300 followers I'm thinking I might pick up a dozen or more favorites, which will disappear before the first as usually happens on my stories. Here's what kind of writer I am - I've been writing about this couple for a year, well over 300,000 words so far. I just now realized I could put them in an I/R story, so you're on! let's see what happens.

Yup, they're all out of the gate, making for the first hurdle. We've got I'm Emily already clear of the favourite Chas Dickens but right on his shoulder is Georgie O. Wearing mixed colours Lord Byron is staying clear of Hardy-Boy as they come to the first, I see Jane Austen has been pulled up but the rest of the field over that and up the hill towards Critic's Corner.

I see from someone else's entry that they've included a link to this thread and a brief explanation, which falls outside the 750 word count. It would be really helpful if those permitted introductions were included in next year's challenge invitation post - maybe like a template we could all stick to? I've added my explanation as a comment, which isn't ideal.

Maybe there was a premature ejaculation, and after the writer informed Laurel that they wanted to participate in the 750 Word Project, it was temporarily removed?
