Official Support Thread - 5th Annual 750 Word Project

I'm confused as well. If it's in Pending and is listed within that as Pending, then it's merely submitted. If it's in Pending but is listed within that as New, then it's scheduled for publication. The time between Pending/Pending and Pending/New can be very long sometimes, especially for the Poetry category, but for me is usually about 36 hours. That said, I have seen it happen within a couple of hours, and sometimes it can be days and days...
You're right - mine's not showing as New yet, I've jumped the gun. Oops.

Based on comments from last year, I think most people would still go to their favourite category new list to find stories, not the 750 challenge list.

On the plus side, my story will sit on the humour front page for ages. 🤣
I have one to sit right there with ya Russ. I'm covering Erotic Couplings, Lesbian, Mature, E&V, and Humor & Satire

Don't worry, as long as you put 750 WORD PROJECT 2023 in the notes to Admin, it will post just fine. I still get nervous when I click the submit button and I submitted over 30 items in the past 9 months, only once did I have a problem.

I suggest that when your story pops up, let us know here with a link to your story so we can all take a look at it.

My pending 750-word story is approved as "New" with a post date of 02/01/2023!

"My Busy Day - 750 Words", ... "Daily chores: Fucking the wife and serving her wine."

This one is in Erotic Couplings, because I haven't yet been inspired for a wife-sharing Loving Wives story. But I have all month.

I've submitted mine. I have no plans to submit any more, at least not this year. This one is also for Pink Orchid. I have copied in the Notes block the prompting phrases for both 750 and Pink Orchid. I've never tried for a two-fer like this, we'll see if it works.

As this event approaches, I'll bump the thread by asking what is probably a silly question:

Should we wait until February 1st to submit, or submit a few days early so they are posted by the 1st?

I actually submitted mine a few days ago. It's already been processed, and shows a "go live date" of Feb 1 So just make sure you put the correct phrase in the Notes, and you are good to go now.

You can post it now. Add the blurb to the Admin note section and they'll hold it until the 1st. You'll see it go from Pending to New, with a post date of 2/1/23.

I'm really in no rush either way, but figured I'd ask.

I'm actually more inclined to wait a few days past the first, submit in time to get posted by the weekend, better visibility time.

Me too. I always read the question, put my name at the top of the paper, then fuck up the exam some other way.

Now submitted - is it only the 28th? I remember those hot summer exams when your pen slithered in your fingers. Some students would be cradling last minute textbooks, others looking off into the distance, lips miming an incantation of essential facts or prayers. I'd look for some grass or a tree to touch and ground myself, remembering that exams are momentary, the earth is forever. Ha - so glad I don't have to deal with that BS any more.
I was going to add this to my intro, but the rules don't allow it. I'll put it here instead for a little musical relief:
If you search Vivaldi’s Storm you’ll find the sound track of this 750 word romance, though the similarity only occurred to me just now. I hope you enjoy the moment with them.

You could, for example, put a video in the 'What Are You Listening To Now' thread. When the story gets published, you could write a comment with a link to that particular thread-post. I think (not 100% sure) that links to the Literotica-forum are allowed in the comments.
Good idea and done. I'm sure there's an expression for promoting with multiple media :)

Just one for me. I'll submit it on Monday. I wrote a second one, but I think there a larger story there, so I'll hold onto it. There's something about the idea of fucking the admiral that begs for more exposition.

Mine is scheduled for posting on Feb. 1, so what I put in the Notes to Admin was clearly understood that this story is part of the 750 event. Whether Admin also caught my request for the story to be included in Pink Orchid, I don't yet know. I could stir up so much anxiety over something so trivial.

Shouldn't be a problem I had a couple of stories last year that went into dual events, one went into Amorous Goods event and the Halloween Contest with no problem.

Submitted! Much more fun than I anticipated. Very glad to have participated. It's based on earlier work and it's named to tie them together, but it stands on its own quite nicely I think. :giggle: I look forward to reading everyone's work.

Will there be a page listing all the stories, which would grow as new stories are added? It would be convenient to have a growing list rather than have to search for them.

I doubt it. This isn't an official contest. They'll be listed at the top of the NEW page every day there are some to post.

If your curiosity cannot be sufficiently subdued, you can always do a 'tag' search for '750 WORD PROJECT 2023' to catch the daily total. Sometimes not even the 'final' announced list is perfectly accurate, another late or mistagged entry will sometimes show up.

There was a huge number last year, over 140 I believe. All those 750 words add up...almost to a novel really.

Edit: sorry you did say 'search' so you know the deal.

As I understand things (and please don't quote me on this, as I am not 100% sure on it) at the end of March I believe, a List of stories will be compiled and posted. But not until the end of the posting period..

Yes, they are all going into pending with a go live date of February 1st.
