Oh this is an interesting subject!
As mentioned previously I’ve changed profiles previously. I’ve previously experienced never ending PM’s and now have a much lower profile and spend months away Lit.

So obviously I can’t expect to be able to get an interaction instantly, just because suddenly I’m feeling sociable (or horny).

Also, being in the U.K. means that unless I want to stay awake after midnight, Lit can be a quiet place. Sometimes there is not a single post on The Playground for quite some time.

So it occurred to me that I’d try messaging Newbies. I still do occasionally. It’s actually rewarding. You can get a conversation a bit easier. And you do feel quite helpful. And …I did end up dating someone in real life, for many, many years.

So that’s just a perspective/insight. I guess people do things if they have some “success”. Whatever that word means to them.

It’s interesting to hear the female perspective. So thank you to anyone who’s given their side of this.

You’re a guy. The odds of you getting PMs from women based on your posts are low. And I don’t mean your posts specifically. As noted in the boutique pussy thread, women have it a lot easier when it comes to getting messages (whether this is good or bad depends on the user).

I will admit to playing the newbie welcoming committee for men from time to time.....for science though. I also had curiosity about the gender dynamics of lit as well, so I poke around with a stick from time to time.

In principle, I like that idea. I dunno that I would want to put up with hurting feelings or bringing a flame war to my doorstep, so if someone wants to be apprised of my 3-4 posts a day, if that….whatevs

The old buddies from the previous Lit forum carried over as people you follow, so it’s probably from that.

Following does put their activities in your news feed, but I don’t ever use that. I have my profile set to private, so that only the people I follow can see it and my list of posts. It just reduces the creepy, stalking factor. It also makes it easier for me to quickly find the profiles to start a conversation with the people I chat with the most frequently or see if they’ve posted anything hilarious recently.

I won’t derail this good thread with too much discussion on it. But, similar to this thread, it discussed the notion that men and women have it different here at Lit. And I posed the ever controversial theory that some pussy and dick is considered more desirable than others. Millions of years of biology was on my side with that notion, but some white knights informed me all pussy and cock is created equal. That’s why all PMs get equally enthusiastic responses.
