I don't think that the Bond franchise will survive with a Jane Bond at the center of the stories for the reasons you suggest here. However, historically (what history of spies you can find), the most successful spies have been women. Washington had women spies (Not the seat of government, the general, and later president) who kept him well informed of the British movements and plans and plots. The most successful of these women, was a female known only as Agent 355. A friend of my fathers wrote a story about a modern-day female spy organization; his agent's identification was 355.
Women use sex as a weapon, and despite the misogynistic portal of Bond, James Bond, most of the world's best-kept secrets are kept by men with egos the size of the Grand Canyon. His sexual prowess would only help him if he was gay and they were gay. The bond of the books used women to get close to the bad guy. Most real spy work isn't about killing the bad guy but extracting information. As long as a straight man can be tricked into thinking with his little head and not his big one, women will be able to worm their way into a position to get the information.
I agree with all of your descriptions of real spies and spy work. All hail the power of feminine wiles!
But as the Bond series is described as spy novels, James Bond as 007 is more of a hitman or assassin. He was chosen for the "double-0" work for first having killed someone while working as an embassy intelligence officer.
