“With lawmakers in several states pushing forward with bills that would ban abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, 48% of voters said they would strongly or somewhat favor such restrictions, with exemptions to protect the life of the mother, while 43% were in opposition.”

I am in favor of free abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy. I do not care about "a woman's right to choose." I like the eugenic benefits of abortion. Most females who have abortions have little or nothing to contribute to the human gene pool, and the process of human evolution. They are unmarried. They have low IQ's. They are marginally employable.

I worry about an undergraduate at Vassar who aborts the result of an encounter with a Rhodes Scholar. Many middle class married couples would love to raise her child. Fortunately, that rarely happens.

I think what this poll tells us is that nationally, the public is fairly evenly split on a 15 week ban with a slight plurality supporting it. That probably surprises a lot of abortion industry supporters.

Support a 15 week ban is likely somewhat higher in states like Mississippi and Texas, and opposition is probably higher in states like California and New York. Assuming SCOTUS upholds the Mississippi law in the next couple months, there will a week or so of outrage from coastal media outlets whose editors are unaffected by the law. Then it will be mostly forgotten in much the same way the Texas law faded from the headlines.

No surprise here. Poll after poll has shown that Americans favor legalized abortion in the first trimester by 70-80%, in the second trimester ~50%, and in the third trimester 20-30%. 15 weeks is in the early second trimester so there you are, ~50%. (These polls go back to the 1980's.)

No surprise here. Poll after poll has shown that Americans favor legalized abortion in the first trimester by 70-80%, in the second trimester ~50%, and in the third trimester 20-30%. 15 weeks is in the early second trimester so there you are, ~50%. (These polls go back to the 1980's.)

What I read isn’t the point. The point is the slant of the “source.” WSJ caters to Conservatives, HP to liberals. So I would say that neither is an unbiased source, kind of like FOX and CNN. You have a better chance of getting the real thing from your local paper unless you live in a very small town with a 3 sheet rag About local car accidents.
