There are data sets out there that just can't be ignored. To deny shit exist doesn't make them go away. There are issues of black on black violence in cities like Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit and it won't go away by calling anyone who bring up the facts as racist or a white supremacist.

In case you didn't notice, this discussion I am having with Johnny is NOT about the US. It is about the non problems others have with this racial group of humans in first world countries outside of the US. Stick to the topic.

I disagree. I believe diversity is a strength, and it always has been. The problem is that, somehow, people have lost the ability to cope and so have taken refuge in raw tribalism. The internet has not helped these people. It has allowed them to find like minded people to unite with for the most outrageous ideas and given them the impression that their knowledge and understanding of everything is just as complete as the people who were formerly recognized experts in their fields.

Of course I also recognize that I tend to be optimistic. That element was always there, too.

Ratings, i fear, are no judge of anything except that they determine how much a host can charge for advertising. It just means people are watching and can be plied with urges to buy stuff. I don’t watch CNN, MSNBC, FOX, or any other 24 hour “news” service. They spend too much time on mind control, real life mind control, because there really isn’t THAT much news to tell. If you don’t believe that, get a stopwatch and time them. There are lots of times when they are just sitting around shooting the breeze about what happened and the continuous repetition has an affect. Just tell me what happened. Diversity can only be considered a strength if we are diversified with a race characterized by intelligence, obedience to the law, and monogamy.

For an upper middle class liberal diversity is a Chinese American family living next door, where the son attends MIT, and the daughter studies classical ballet. It is dining in Thai and Ethiopian restaurants in safe neighborhoods.

For a white blue collar worker diversity is having attended a black majority public school; it is losing jobs because of affirmative action; it is being the victim of black criminals.

i didn’t confirm anything. It kind of drives me crazy how people do that. I don’t know if I am an upper middle class liberal or not, but my orthopedic surgeon is black. Great guy and his kid is too.
