You had to read some press crap to figure that out? Sorry dude, but what he was doing, and why, was obvious from damn near the beginning. There's no way in hell that Twitter was worth $44 billion and Musk wasn't about to piss away that much money just because he's a "free speech" fanatic. The game is a hell of a lot bigger than that.

It is a real private company. If you are on their platform and they decide they don't want you there, they can remove you. Same thing happens at a restaurant if you walk in without a shirt on.
But I guess if you want to believe in bullshit, then logic of any sort tends to go over your head.

Your "logic" has several holes in it.
For example:
If I go into a restaurant and decide to order a steak, the restaurant doesn't throw me out and bar me for life if I want my steak well done instead of med-rare like the restaurant prefers to serve it.
OTOH, Twitter INVITES people to come and comment on their private company system but then bans those who comment in ways the company doesn't like.
These 2 things may sound the same, but they are not. The fact that you cannot, or refuse to, see that is where the problem lies.

Twitter has the right to ban it's members. If you don't like it....don't use it.
But, to further the example, a private company is subject to truth in labeling laws and
if they fill your steak order with turkey and assure you that's it's a ribeye,
then they are breaking the law just as when Twitter proclaims
we are a free speech platform unless you are a conservative.
All conservatives do is engage in hate speech;
the things that "offend" us,
but if free speech cannot offend, then it is not free speech.
Sometimes people just need to hear stuff.

The hypothetical restaurant I outlined has a right to refuse service too.
Of course when you INVITE people to participate in your business enterprise, then tell them that they're evil and not wanted because they don't conform to your personal ideals/politics, you have a business model problem called bigotry and segregationism. Screaming and pointing the finger of shame at those whom you refuse to include in your circle jerk only underscores your bigotry and segregationist problem.
IOW, it's not us, it's you who is the racist/supremacist/hater. The louder you scream and the more vehemently you protest that it's us while concurrently refusing to let us play in your sandbox, only proves the point.

Like all things, the SCOTUS had it correct when they created "quasi public speech." Then the libs came along and fucked it all up and now we have no right to public speech at all. Because, somehow speech isn't speech if it's electronically transmitted between you and me, but it's still speech (and protected) if it's electronically transmitted by a "preferred" sender over the same transmission system and carrier.
They can't help themselves.
They got the highest priced and government subsidized indoctrination that money can buy.
They think they are right and occupy the moral high ground and everyone else has to be the bad guy(s).
