I just don't sleep.

My brain won't shut off...
It takes a lot to get mine to shut off. Have you tried meditation? I seem to recommend it a lot but it really does help. Especially if you can do it in a space you feel completely safe and comfortable in.

You are indeed allowed to ask 😁
I spent the whole day from 4am till 4pm cooking while still managing the work radio, phone and emails. My body is as tired as my brain right now.
That sounds like a marathon effort. What is all the food for?

I wish that helped...

I get short waves where I can sleep, but those are brief and far between.

Certain hypnotics aka sleeping pills help for a time (some of them act like stimulants to me) problem is they lose potency with me fast.

Nobody asked me but meditation, bedtime routine, journaling, therapy, chamomile tea help

Have you been to a sleep clinic? Tried tank therapy? I'm sorry if these feel like obvious question but sometimes it helps to get a outside perspective.

Yes to all of those but my journals I turn into erotica I find it helps me be less afraid of it.
Sadly it's a lifelong affliction for me...
I'm sorry 🥺
It's been pretty much the same for me well as long as I can remember anyways

Yep.

My brain just won't turn off to fall asleep...

Even as a child I had a hard time sleeping. Once I'm out DON"T wake me or you will suffer death by *insert horror movie here*

Is it a chemical imbalance? It certainly sounds that way more than a emotional barrier stopping you.
Some people need very little sleep to function and their bodies will make it so they only get what they need.
