$7/hour? You’re joking… what is minimum wage in the USA?
$7.25... hell, she'd be happy with $5/hr. Cost of living is much lower there. FYI, 4.4 lakhs = $5747. They earn less than $6k a YEAR.

What is salary of Embassy in India?
Average annual salary in Embassy is INR 4.4 lakhs. Salary estimates are based on 77 Embassy salaries received from various employees of Embassy.

I understand your point, but just because things are bad or worse in other places doesn’t mean we don’t have a right to want better here too. Full time on federal minimum wage is about $15,000. That’s just barely over the poverty line

True, but the poverty line here is miles above the poverty line elsewhere. I'm thankful for what I have. I'm underpaid, but I'm thankful.

I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree. I’m thankful too, but it doesn’t mean I don’t think our system could be better for everyone. Like I said, just because things are worse in other places doesn’t mean we can’t still want things that are crappy here to be better.

The "average" is $7.25🙄
That’s stupid.
Now you turn on me.
Hahaha.. you love it.
$7.25 federally. Some states have higher.
Wow.
Except for service industries where tips are presumed. I think they're in the $3 something range here.
😳

$5/hour … where is she? Fuck.
Yeah it’s crazy when you compare other countries.. they make less than a dollar a day and work WAY harder with much less environmental and safety regulations.
Right, can’t forget about them! I want to say it’s $3.13. A *huge* increase from the $2.83 it was when I was a waitress way back in 1997. 🙄
For reals?

Minimum wage in BC is $16/hour … still barely above poverty when the cheapest housing is $450k for a 500sq ft condo.
I was in Middle School in 1997🙄😘
Such a baby… I was almost graduated

Being grateful is key for sure.

So true… the USA is living with a gloss over it… the wealth disparity is HORRIBLE

Then there’s the question of how it’s primarily developing nations that are killing our environment because of their want to be like USA … which is a dumpster fire and nothing to be looked up to… while countries like Canada, Switzerland, etc are putting environmental sanctions and taxes on their citizens when their environmental contribution is barely a blip.
