What happens if you just get yourself fired? Here, you’d be able to collect unemployment, and then you’d have the free time to put into getting a better job.
My initial thoughts are to stick with it and fight him. Then leave 😂 I’m considering unpaid leave again to get my thoughts together. I’m going to look into how to contact his boss tomorrow

Why, in American English at least, do we go to the hospital but go to school?
I think it has to do with the activity same with church. You go to school to learn, church to worship, but you can go to a hospital for all kinds of things.

It’s easy for me to say but I think you’re better off out of there. Your boss is an ass.

While I go to church, which describes an activity not a location, I used to go to the Catholic church in Harvard Sq.

But don't you Brits say you're going to hospital or you're in hospital? With no 'the"?

There’s a distinction.

If you’re going to the hospital for, say, an operation you might say I’m going into hospital or to hospital. If you’re going to visit someone you wouldn’t say I’m going to hospital because it would imply that your are unwell. So you’d go to the hospital.

I submitted a letter to my employer about some of the things happening at work. He told me he’s no longer supporting my medical condition, that he will no longer adhere to my occupational health report, and he will not give me support in settling back in after having covid.

Then I got out of work and discovered buses will no longer stop there after 8pm and I never finish work earlier than 8pm!
You really do work for a moron. It’s been obvious for some time that you need to get out of there for the sake of your mental and physical health. The only question is can you can get any compensation for what they’ve put you through. Maybe you can talk to a legal aid lawyer to see if they think you have a legal case against the company.

though here, depending on the state, unemployment maxes out at less than minimum wage. a week of unemployment doesn't even cover day salary. no mater how much you make, unemployment maxes at what would be a $14,000 a year salary, which is just not livable for any length of time, so no free time. A month of unemployment is actually less than the average rent even before taxes are taken out.

Yeah, I'm hoping the UK might be slightly better :(
