I still struggle with this. I've read many books that did not start off good. But finished really well. So I think I'd tell myself that I have to finish, in case it is that one book, that just finishes really well.

I get the feeling that you read very much the same way that my mom did. My mom could literally sit down and finish a book in a day. She would go through so many books.

Honestly that is how I used to read. Now I have a harder time focusing long enough to finish a book that quickly.

Yup. That's exactly how I read.
Though, last year when the pandemia started I was struggling. I just couldn't focus and read any kind of book, despite the time available. It's one of the reasons I ended up here actually. lol

Good book. Can't put it down. Read faster. Probably the reason that I like certain authors, or books that are part of a series.

I also would choose the latter. Even when things don't end the way that I want. The experience taught me something. I would rather have learned a lesson than to spend years wondering "what if"
