I'd pin the other one involved who had a gun, as well. And I haven't read what, if any charges, he's faced. I'd find charges for all rioters who could be tracked down.

I watched most of the trial. I watched all of Rittenhouse's testimony and all of the closings. Not relying at all on what the various media, social and otherwise, tells me to think; If I were on the jury, I'd vote to acquit.

The law doesn't require him to roll over and take a beating like a little bitch.

IF Rosenbaum had run down the street with an AR-15 under the guise of being an "EMT" / "Firefighter" and crossed police lines to attack Rottenhouse on the property he was "protecting", then Rottenhouse would have had a better argument for self defense. That's a big IF.

I watched the part where the prosecutor clearly stated that under Wisconsin law a person cannot claim self defense if they provoked the conflict. IE, created the emergency that required them to use deadly force. I also watched the part where the prosecutor provided evidence showing Rottenhouse on video lying about being an EMT before approaching perfectly healthy protesters and offering them "medical" assistance while brandishing his AR-15(provoking behavior), and admitting to having pointed his AR-15 at a protester earlier in the night.(recklessly dangerous and provoking behavior). I also saw the video where Rottenhouse ran alone to put out a fire(reckless behavior), then put down the fire extinguisher he was holding and raised his weapon(provoking behavior). Rottenhouse testified that he put down the fire extinguisher, and there is no other reason he would have done that other than to brandish his weapon when he confronted the people setting the fire. The shootings were precipitated by Rottenhouse running up on the protesters alone and brandishing his AR-15.(Rottenhouse created the emergency).

This ^ preceded by Rottenhouse illegally buying his AR-15 through a straw purchase across state lines.

He did. But that charge was dropped. The prosecutor rolled the dice and didn't want any lesser charges giving the jury an out.

Although I've heard conflicting accounts as to whether or not the gun was illegal. With respect to the trial though, it was irrelevant as was the "came from out of State" I'd wager many of the people at the riot were from out of state.

Last I heard approx. 43%+ were in state residents. Some of the out of staters came from as far as OR and WA. No surprise there.

The gun was legal, bought in Wisconsin. He never took it across state lines. And it was 100% legal for him to have and carry it in Kenosha.

The judge dropped the charge because even the prosecution admitted that KR was in possession of the rifle legally. The law they were prosecuting only prohibited minors from possessing short-barreled rifles, not standard ARs.

You have a problem and it's called due process. You can't just "pin something" on someone because you don't like their actions. The facts have to fit the elements of the crime. If the police hadn't been told to stand down, none of this happens.

I've seen the mention but haven't seen any details. I turned on MSNBC this evening to see if they would report anything on this themselves. They didn't that I heard.

No one from the media should be coming anywhere close to jury members (even after the trial, I believe--although they do that), and if they did follow the jury's bus, or approach jurors, or photograph them, then I agree they should be banned from the trial venue.
