Ok, I want to know who the real Christmas people are. Who's crafting and what are you making? I just spent the last 5 days transforming my scrap wood from my gazebo project into Christmas trees that will decorate my home as well as the homes of loved ones. There's still time for more ideas. I want to know yours.
Oh, and I'll be making snowmen on sticks with the old boards from my gazebo. Loving this recycling thing
Same here. No displays out till then. But I have so much work to do, I had to take advantage of every day off I had. I feel extra rushed because the gifts are decorations, so it's not like I want to wait and give them Dec 25th.

The cost is high here too. I started out working with pallet wood. Then I found out i could get a decent price on cedar tongue and groove from a local mill. I bought a bunch of their remnants so buying their left over bits at 2 and 3 feet ish. Anything that didn't quite make it to 48 inch qualified for a 3 footer. When the gazebo reno was done, I couldn't bring myself to throw out what was left.
So now I have the boards that were on the gazebo before that were removed, the bits of tongue and groove and pallet wood to work with. A friend is standing by the take my throw away wood to burn in her fire pit, but I keep grabbing wood out of my junk pile. It's amazing how little bits you cut off to make wood look like tree branches suddenly look like snowman noses
