I got my first story published (hooray!) and it’s in the living wives category. The comments have been generally good and there’s been a few valid criticisms, but what’s frustrating is the amount of comments (about a third) saying “I hate this cuck stuff one star” one even went so far as to say didn’t even bother to read it one star. Look I get we all like different things, but if you don’t a category why are you reading and complaining about it? Just wondering who else has had this problem.

I'm surprised you ask because you are a "Literotica Guru."

EVERYBODY has this problem. It is universal. There are plenty of Loving Wives readers who like these stories, but there's a significant contingent that hates them and will 1-bomb you and give you nasty comments. It's been going on for a little while and I think it's gotten worse.

I'm curious if ANYONE has managed to publish a story in Loving Wives in the last year that features a couple that mutually enjoys the wife's extramarital activity where the story achieved a score of 4.5 or better. I can't think of any.

You might consider publishing in another category if the comments and bad votes bother you. I've published stories of this type in Exhibitionism and Voyeur and they've done well.

By god, if Literotica has a "living wives" category, it certainly should have a "dead wives" category there. I think the comments there would be very entertaining.

Well, for some of that crowd, "dead" is how they want the wife to be.

That dang blasted bit about one letter changing a whole meaning. It oughta' be outlawed!!!!

I'm afraid that this is the experience. I don't publish there, and didn't under a previous and long forgotten account, because I can simply do without all the hassle. But you aren't alone, and there'll be another thread here about it in 5,4,3,2.....

I submit my stories exclusively to the "Loving Wives" section (Well, I used to.) because that's what I want to write. I've decided that I'll have to write my stories for the joy of writing them and the hope that some readers will enjoy them. I'll have to simply ignore the comments and low ratings - or go elsewhere,

I'm also finding that some of the long-time posters on this board are not terribly helpful, either. So what if a subject keeps coming up? If you've heard it all before, "just move on" and let the newbies have their say.

You had your say on this already and got brought up to speed on the issue. To take a second cut at it is just being obtuse about something you now know the other users have not control over or say in. So, to answer the question of this thread, yes, to find every three days someone who refuses to "get it" is frustrating.

You should keep doing what you want to do. I just checked out your story submission list and was amazed you had a story with a score over 4.6 in Loving Wives. And it's got over 128, 000 views. That's like a unicorn in that category. Whatever you are doing is working and if it gives you pleasure that's the only criterion that matters.

Thanks!

Thank you. That story was in the Hall of Fame for a while, but I suspect the trolls knocked it down a bit. A story like that is so much fun to work on, I don't care what the haters think.

Interesting that you've been here for four years and you didn't know the nature of LW. Think of Psalm 23.4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

I think for fairness there should be a Loving Husbands category too. For that, BTB will mean "Burn the Bastard."

You have the power, delete, delete, delete any comments you find inappropriate, or any you just don't like. As for scores, if most of them are above 4 and you have two or three 1's a sweep might get rid of them at some point in the future. If you really care about things like that.

Personally, I don't. As for comments, I delete those from the BTB(burn the bitch) crowd. Especially, on stories where there is no cheating. Dumbasses all of them.

I am really starting to like you. This is no different than any other type of forum or discussion group or rediit/sub reddit etc...people who have been here a long time get filled with self importance as if being here makes them something

It also has its cliques and cool kids and they all circle the wagons against anyone pointing out their emperor has no clothes when it comes to site "rules" and hypocrisy.

Once you realize this is an erotic writers version of a high school cafeteria its easy to deal with.

I'm the kid who sits by himself and heckles everyone else because I have zero fucks to give. Between that and shooting straight and refusing to fawn over anyone I'm not overly popular here, but popularity is over rated.

Oh, and I'm also very successful here as far as what constitutes success on a free site, and that just makes it burn all the more.

That's a great attitude. You can't have a better attitude than that. Just do what you want to do.

I had a great time writing the one story I submitted to Loving Wives. I don't regret it for a second. Four and a half years after publication, it has a score of 3.67, and it's never going sniff 4.0, let alone 4.5. It's my worst-rated story. But it was tons of fun to write.
