I don't usually pay attention to stories like this but this one does point to blatant racism and cancel culture at the same time.

The host(don't ask me his name cause I don't watch silly stuff like the Bachelor) clearly is speaking from a stand point of racism when interviewed and he doesn't really understand what he said that makes it so racist. Antibellem coming out parties are a racist legacy of the white supremacists southland.

But, having him fired(cancelled) is not a good solution. The host isn't a dyed in the wool racist like many of our hardcore racist here on lit who are Maybe too far gone for much rehabilitation. Instead of making people go away, maybe a better way is to lean into their racism a bit and ask them to go further than apologies. How about rehabilitation? Going to a counselor? Requiring community service and classes in race, racism and critical race theory in stead of just saying your fired and get lost?

.
Meh, the fool tried telling a black woman to her face that "way back" in 2018 antebellum parties were acceptable, but things are different in 2021

The scary part is that he may well have believed what he was saying, which highlights the disconnect from reality displayed by privileged white male Americans.

At best he is a fool and at worst he is an racist apologist. Neither option is a good look.

Is it a bird? is it a plane? no, its WillJ8787 the race defender! :D

I can't comment as I've never watched the show. And honestly, to me, watching paint dry would be more interesting than watching what happens on that waste of broadcast bandwidth of a show. But based on my limited knowledge of what happened, it sounds like he made some comment that he thought was innocent enough, didn't think he was being racist but nonetheless got called out on it, and now is suffering the consequences. Did he deserve to be fired over it? Maybe, maybe not. I really don't know, honestly- and don't really care.

I bet WillJ would have a problem with that.....some pigs are more equal than others.

If you're going to see socialism under every rock and never miss a chance to bash it, you probably ought to give it a rest with the Orwell allusions. Orwell was a socialist.

Doesn't make his criticisms of it any less valid......as demonstrated by "progressives" propensity for double standards.

None of which you can point to here. (Yes, what you're describing does exist, but no one here has engaged in that.)
