Did we ever figure out where all the old ones went?

Coins stay in circulation for an average of thirty years. Was the coin shortage caused by the “less advantaged” getting a stimulus and not stretching every nickel and dime?

Can we finally stop minting pennies and nickels and make dimes the smallest denominator if we're to have coins? It may be all but moot anyway as we move to a cashless society, which government desires above all else for it gives them the ability to track our every economic move, purchase and potentially taxable event. They also savor the idea of being able to eliminate such horrible crimes such as the sale of pot and the tracking of guns...

An attack on cash is an attack on civil liberty.
 
They should put Trump’s face on the penny. The color would match.
