Millions of Americans under threat of tsunami with urgent evacuations in Hawaii underway as sixth-strongest earthquake EVER rocks the planet​

Millions of Americans are under threat of a devastating tsunami following a massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Russia. Sirens were blaring in Hawaii and residents were urged to evacuate from coastal areas as the entire island chain braced for the impact to strike at 1 am EST or 7pm local time. Tsunami advisories were also in effect for the entire West Coast of the United States and a tsunami threat covered Japan, where workers at the Fukushima nuclear plant were forced to evacuate.

Waves were expected to reach California at about 3 am EST/12 am local. In Hawaii, locals were seen running to supermarkets to stock up on water and other essentials as Gov. Josh Green signed an emergency proclamation for the state. We pray that we won't lose any loved ones,' the governor said in a news conference as he warned the public to not 'go out until we give you the all clear.' Photos posted online also showed bumper-to-bumper traffic on a Honolulu highway as residents scrambled to get to higher ground. Meanwhile, on Oahu, the US Army and Navy opened Kolekole Pass and sections of Schofield Barracks on Oahu to help with the evacuation efforts there. The National Guard is also prepared to help with any rescue efforts, but Green warned 'it is not likely we will recover you' if residents are swept up in the massive waves.

Seriously, apparently a “mega thrust” earthquake measuring8.8 on the Richter scale around Kamchatka, Russia. That makes this number 6th most powerful earthquakes in history to be exact.

The fact that it’s a “mega thrust” quake means that its propensity to create massive Tsunamis and water displacement is very high. As a result, many Tsunami Warnings are now in affect for Hawaii, Japan and even a lot of the West Coastline of the U.S. Hawaii is expecting up to 12 feet waves alone, and mass evacuations are currently underway.

We are evacuating the beach......LOL. Just kiddimg. We are nowhere near Hawaii.

8.8 is one HUGE quake.

Florida!!!!! I dream of a holiday in Florida.....nah, last time we went to the nasty way too hot Tropics it was transiting thru at 30,000 feet on a LAN Chile flight to Santiago and a week in the Atacama Desert. Abd a few days in Santiago to worship at the shrine of Saint Augusto, and admore the pockmarks in the wall of the Presidential Palace where they turned Allende into a colander.
