Thoughts on poaching in Literotica Personals?

"All's fair"?

"That ain't cool"?

"Make your own personal thread"?

"Everybody's stalking"?

what say you?

Not cool at all. You put yourself out there with an ad and somebody comes along and slides in. Sleazy.

I kinda think that it happens pretty frequently.

Less "sleazy" poaching happens in other threads, sometimes derailing the topic, and that's the time for — "get a room!"

Naturally some threads (outside of personals) are more open ended, whereas others, I'm thinking most am pics and gallery (visual artists' corner) threads ought to warrant more deference.

It is awkward when you think you're entering a general game of wordplay and people keep skipping you to carry on their public private moment..
I don't know if I always care enough to let it matter though
(unless it's one of my threads, of course.. hahahaha)

I’ve often thought, “Get a room!”; I thought that was the reason for the private messages. I also think some folks like the attention of playing it out on the threads for all to see. Just my opinion.

parasites

People not imaginative enough to start their own thread absolutely depend on poaching that of someone else. So quite necessarily so, they turn into smart asses.

Too dumb to voice a thought of their own, they cannot do anything other than try tearing down thoughts of others. Parasites of another form, I'd say.

When checking out someone you do not know yet, beware of Litsters with a sizeable number of posts but not a single thread of their own. My 2 cents weorth.

I hear you.

That seems kinda likely.

Tho' especially bad form if it is in someone else's personal post (or gallery or am-pic thread)

I'd say that was worth at least a nickle!

The spark of this thread was less about that angle, as the poacher was not being a "smart ass" (or "tearing down" in this case) , but simply interjecting themselves after seeing a potential "target". And perhaps it is a case of being "too dumb"/unimaginative to create their own thread.

As you said — "parasites"

Maybe not so much "too dumb"/unimaginative, but rather just too lazy to create their own thread. I'm sure some are looking for a quick sexual "tête-à-tête" with someone, and rather than putting the thought and effort into creating a thread of their own and waiting for potential victims... umm.. interested parties to respond, they'll latch onto someone else's hard work that has had responses and jump in front of the line, so to speak. Rather rude behavior, but rudeness seems to be more the norm than the exception anymore.

I am sure there is (as always) a range or spectrum, of; dumbness, lack of imagination, laziness, rudeness, lack of empathy, over horniness...

Some, likely, embody many (or all  ) "afflictions". ;)

Elmo, you said something very disturbing: rudeness has become more the norm these days than ever before.

in my opinion, this only tends to happen, when somebody influential is setting an example for that sort of behavior. And we all can guess who that somebody might be.

That is a BIG (yuge) factor. However, we have, as a society, been heading down that path for quite a while, via the interwebs and the anonymity afforded by it. With no "risks" (of getting punched in the face, or seeing live tears, or having to listen to a rebuttal), people blurt what they want.

Sadly, "somebody" is exacerbating the issue.

Throbbs, I feel glad that not only my granddaughters see things the same way, but at least one additional Litster as well

I feel glad that your granddaughters see things that way! There may be hope.

(there's always hope)

they will direly need different views developing, if the world is to survive for longer. I could live with conditions of today, if need be. Because I have memories of my past. But not them.

Let's hope that hope for a better future will never die.

Bummed this is not a thread for technique on how to perfectly poach an egg.

Thanks. Not far off on how I poach eggs. An old school Chefs tip, add a few dashes of vinegar. Helps hold whites together. 3 minutes is usually a good time if your simmer is right.

> There you go <

Don't get shot, poaching is illegal.
