Well I'm in the mood to do some math let me point out to you why the number of deaths pegged at 100,000 is clearly not true.

The CDC does a very good job once they have data of accurately estimating how many people each season were infected by the influenza virus and how many people died from that. They don't just gather up death certificates and look at how many cases were diagnosed in doctors offices it's a lot more complicated than that.

There's a methodology and it works. They are obviously applying that to this problem to come up with the above figures which include people who are a great risk and people that are at no risk but either way it comes up with a mortality rate of .26%

If you work that backwards, 100,000 deaths would require about 38.5 million infected patients, including both those displaying symptoms, and those not displaying any symptoms. For that to be true more than 10% of the American public would have to have had this infection. That doesn't account for children, who seem to be poor hosts for this particular virus. It is series that they do not have the appropriate receptor sites to become infected.

That level of infection is barely being hit in the worst hot spots in New York City. It can't possibly be true for the entire country.

Hence, the 100,000 figure is inaccurate, and the CDC knows it.

I don't know if the military yet has a handle on what it believes the current infection rate of service members is but they do know how many symptomatic cases they have in the total deaths in the entire US military is two. The US military has relatively young sailors airman and soldiers and relatively healthy ones.

America's mortality rate is an analog to our obesity rate which in turn tracks our rate of diabetes, heart disease, and pulmonary diseases. It would be far lower than 26 per 10,000 infections if we were more fit.

Not even close to true. Those numbers come from somewhere, but they do not include even the number of symptomatic cases, and no one is reporting on asymptomatic cases watering down any number you have by 35% be ause short of antibody testing, you dont know who is asymptimstic.

If you get the virus, and your body starts growing it there is a 2/3 chance you will feel sick at all. If you have a bad enough case to notice it at all, you have less than one half of one percent chance of dying.

More likely the not your cases are representative of those who were sick enough to seek hospitalization.
