What is your favorite toy store?

Do you only shop online?

Have you had some fun with your PYL/pyl in a brick and mortar store? Tell us about the experience.

I can't ever decide what to get from an online store as the possibilities seem endless.

I had to go to our local superstore and engage a clerk to show me the various butt plugs available while he stood nearby and watched me squirm about it.

I mean how often does one say "Can you tell me about these butt plugs, please?" with a straight face and maintain eye contact?

Luckily, the female clerk was working that afternoon and she was really trying to be helpful in listing all the attributes of each one. My face must have been crimson by the time she finished and I made a selection.

Of course then she had to try to upsell and showed me various lubes and which lube would be best for what use. Honestly, I'm not sure how much of that discussion I heard as I so wanted to be swallowed by the floor at that point.

The ride home was a blur except for hearing him say I was a good girl. WHat fun it was to try out the new toys once we were home.

There is a local shop called Adam and Eve here in town.

They are very helpful, which is good, because I admit I sometimes feel pretty self-conscious and uncomfortable whenever I go in there for anything. The people there have a good selection and are very non-judgemental and helpful, though, which puts me at ease.

Has anyone used the Lit store? Is it the same as other online shops or is it better stocked for Litsters?

Adam and Eve is more of a internet store here in the land of Cowboys and Indians ( nothing personal) I like the internet as you can take your time with selection but you never know what you might have gotten until it arrives.

I’ve gotten small items at a local store but they are usually outrageous on cost but sometimes with things you would wear like a corset always good to be able to try them on, and nice to be able to take something home right away to play.

I’ve also had good luck with the vendors at some coms. At least your talking to halfway knowledgeable people and it could be someone who had a hand in making it.
Usually you can tell if your talking to someone knowledgeable and that should let you know you really don’t need to be swallowed by the floor anymore than the sales person does. :rose:

My friend owns a store in Seattle. That's kind of far for me so I've never been. Used to be a good store in Lynnwood but it's long gone now.

So I shop online. Amazon and Love Honey, mostly.

For toys I go to the Pleasure Chest -- they have couple stores around here and they sell online too. I usually first check their website, decide what I want, then go to the store to buy it.

Canes and such husband buys online, I have no idea where.

For corsets and stockings amazon, aliexpress, ebay.
Plus Halloween pop-up stores :)

So hard to find anything over this way, its either really expensive or aimed at the bedroom only Saturday night slap and tickle crowd. Fuzzy handcuffs anyone?

There are lots of independant sellers on Etsy and I love badasscanes, otherwise I buy from McHurt, Current Pleasures, Canes4pain and TrussedUk oh and Daisy's Floggers. Finding people who will ship to NZ without having to take out a mortgage is always an issue.

I have bought items from Aliexpress but is so hit and miss with the quality that I prefer to pay the extra for items that will last more than one month.

We have a chain-style store here called ‘Lovers’ which used to be ‘Lovers Package,’ but lost it’s package as time turned. They’re okay as far as the simple things and are actually quite good about the soft core and vanilla things. We also have a locally owned (very female and queer friendly) little store that I would give better reviews for if they had more than five items for BDSM. They do offer to special order things, so I could always take that option. I also have a friend of a friend who is an online and local scene community purveyor of perverted items - I’ve gotten a flogger and paddle from him on the cheap (or free) from out of his trunk.

I have bought most of my rope from RebornRopes on Etsy. I only have hemp because it’s so soft and I can still someday suspend with it (maybe? Who knows...), but I’ve been wondering about jute. Anyone have experience with/have preferences in rope they would like to share?

I have experience only with jute and absolutely love it because it is not soft. I like the harsh feel on the skin, it's very easy to work with as knots stay exactly where you want them to, and it looks great in the pictures. Both the rope itself and the marks it leaves.

To the OP: I don't consider rope bondage part of the pain play, neither self-bondage, nor not-self. Ropes probably can lead to some pain, but I have never done it this way.

Thanks, Annie. I like the idea of some new feels... I might jump in. Anyone else with thoughts on hemp vs. jute vs. nylon rope?

(I know I’m not the OP, but I read this thread as being about toys and where we get them... I consider rope one of the toys in my bag. Yes, you can or cannot inflict pain with rope depending on how you use it, but I don’t know if that was part of the question from the OP here. I could be totally off base though, so please correct me if that’s the case).

Oops! I mixed up two different threads in my head. Sorry!

No problem, Moochie. I love hearing about any and all.

At this time, I'm in the middle of researching pussy pumps and I'm really intrigued by the clit suckers or stimulator that are on the market. I think I would have a problem holding a penguin against my clit, though.

Love it! Not the penguin version, but it's the same thing:

It is a bit noisy, but other than that, it is my absolutely favorite vibe.

A friend of mine has a womaniser which she absolutly loves and can stop talking about how amazing it is. She said it takes a bit to get used to the placement though.

all I know is that did see a video tutorial by a very knowledgeable rigger who explained why you needed to know and use a square knot as the most basic & useful, especially for suspension! And have blunt-end scissors in case of emergency.

eXtreme Restraints in the US (I buy a lot of stuff from them) and Pink Cherry in Canada. If i want to try something new, Amazon almost always has a cheap version to try before investing major coin in "the real thing". Sizing can be a problem with Asian clothes items, especially bras.

I shop on line because I live 2 hours from the nearest bricks and mortar sex shop.

I'm going to stand up for nylon rope for ties because it leaves beautiful, clear rope marks without irritation. That has to do with short natural fibres vs long artificial fibres. But I would advise against it for suspensions because it stretchesunder static loads. Polyester ("Dacron") is used for climbing because it does not stretch and it is very strong.

ef_oh_ex, I am curious about that square knot. Was he referring to the right over left, left over right reef knot or the Japanese square knot that joins two ropes at 90 degrees? The reef knot is known to perform poorly if tension is applied as if it were a bend.

There were some great rigging videos out there, and some other ones that'll cause people problems if they try to follow them as described. Note the latter doesn't necessarily mean the person behind the video is a bad rigger, it's quite possible to be a good rigger but bad at explaining/teaching it.

Rescue scissors/sheers are highly recommended, to the point where I wouldn't play if there weren't at least one good pair in easy reach (when last I played. . .)

I've lost track on good rigging videos - anyone have any particular favorites? I did a quick google and the place I used to buy rope from online seems to be gone, along with their youtube demos.
