No lives have been "Saved."

No they didn't.
The plague was spread by rats and fleas
which were just part of daily life back in those times.

They didn't even know what germs were or the value of basic sanitation...
Rome had been gone for a while, ignorance ruled the day; it seems to rule you too.

^ Another ignoramus.

Miasma was thought to be implicated in disease transmission, but that didn't stop plague masks from being somewhat effective.

It is absurd to think of any medical or political action as really "saving" anyone. The current wave of death from China only speeds up what would happen anyway. Making it a political issue is just an added layer of stupidity and sidetracks from the real cause and effect issues at hand.

WTF. Is this the new talking point making the rounds among the right wing blogosphere?

She's just part of the MSM echo-chamber repeating everything she's "supposed to know."

It has the two-fold virtue of looking smart to the SJW crowd as well as putting Trump hate on display...

why don't you tell me why i'm wrong instead of trolling your vague comments?

You know, for someone who touts himself as "smart" you really aren't. Your views are simplistic and often leave out very important information.

Such as in this case.

"The Plague's" original vector was the rat flea. As it ramped up, it became transmissible via airborne transmission. Plague masks weren't "effective" and didn't stop transmittal of the disease because they couldn't filter out the particles AND the fact that the rat flea was still active in spreading the virus.

Thus, your insinuation that the only vector was via airborne transmission is incorrect. Your insinuation that plague masks were "effective" is incorrect. Yet here you are, trying to spread that nonsense in order to make yourself look "smart".

You failed at that one too.

For someone who claims to be a lawyer, you sure did a great job missing the point.

As to the substance, for pneumonic plague some transmission would have occurred by droplets when coughed by the lungs. Plague masks, which were filled with plant matter, were imperfect barriers, but barriers nonetheless. So in your effort to correct me, you failed that one, too.

Quote where I implied airborne person-to-person transmission was the only vector for plague, or admit you lied and STFU.

I didn't miss "the point", I merely stated that for someone who touts himself as "smart" you are the antithesis of that definition. Nor do you seem inclined to rectify such obvious deficiencies.

As indicated by your reply.

An imperfect barrier is no barrier at all. Or would you have us believe that a condom with a hole in it is still an "effective" means of birth control?

And, like most of Lit's bullshit slingers and progressives you seem hung up on the "you're a liar" thing. It's a really obvious and desperate deflection from the fact that you got caught throwing crap again.

For someone who touts himself as "smart" and everyone else lesser than you, you keep doing dumb things. Why is that?

You really need to never post about any aspect of this pandemic ever again.

It's like you should be talking to yourself in the mirror...

Hardly. I've seen enough of you to know that your grasp of what's actually happening is that of a mentally defective toddler.

Sure dudly, that's exactly why you keep trying to prove you're "smarter" than I am.

And, if I'm that disruptive to your insanity level, there's always the iggy button. 3 clicks (or is it 4?) and you can have your basement dwelling peace and quiet back.

I said "somewhat effective,” so now you're lying by omission. But that's expected from a sleazeball lawyer. If a thing causes an effect with any regularity, it's somewhat effective.

Or we could discard the notion of a border wall because it is only somewhat effective against all illegal border crossings, and hence is no barrier at all.

And since you still appear to be missing the point, the point is this. That a thing doing what we want it to does not necessarily depend on us understanding why it's doing what we want it do. As with social distancing. Another example: Pope Clement survived the plague, thought attributable to being surrounded by fires which prevented contact with rats. They didn't understand that rats were a vector, but that didn't prevent the fires from being effective.

I'm not trying anything but I am definitely more educated on this topic than you. Insanity level? Basement? Did you stay up drinking all night?

Well, this is a different development. Now instead of trying to say you're "smart" you're trying to prove that "stupid is smart".

Washing your hands is a "somewhat effective" method of avoiding bacterial and viral diseases.

Does that mean you won't ever get "sick"?

Of course not. You know why? Because disease vectors have multiple attack fronts and if you only concentrate on 1 of them, you'll miss the others.

Thus "somewhat effective" is in reality "not effective at all". Except to some dipwads who think that arguing this point makes them seem "smart".

Oh lookie, more bullshit designed to try and deflect from your other bullshit slinging. It didn't work then, it's not working now. So ALSO "not effective".

Of course you're trying.

You're trying everyone's patience if nothing else.

So now we're at the point of the exchange where you claim something like bread can only be baked with so-and-so, and I point and laugh. Got it.

Ahh, the "the exception is now the rule" deflection.

Unfortunately, it's still not making you look smart. You should quit before all the pointing and laughing at you devolves into a party with drinks, chips, and a lack of social distancing.

Wait, is that BBQ I smell?

In Leaked Audio, Texas Governor Admits Reopening Economy Will Lead to 'Increase and Spread' of Covid-19

Please quote where anyone said that the number of cases/deaths will go down after the shut down is ended.

Seriously dudly, you need to quit making yourself look like a bigger idjit that you already have.

Yes! Or damage to the idjut-meter is inevitable, He will spring the needle over the peg, and we’ll be forced to purchase a new one!

All roto-dumdum is doing here is proving that it, the good barron, and a few others are all Alts of the same puppetmaster.

No one was talking about the number of cases/deaths going down in this conversation, please learn to read before you change the topic and resort to name-calling.

Lookie, the "I didn't say that" deflection.

You were doing SO WELL when you were remaining silent and then...
