COVID-19 by the Numbers/Facts

Somewhere there's a thread (or ought to be) that lists the various replies from the "woke" by number.

I think this one is #1 on that list - "You sound TRIGGERED!" is the primary go-to by the desperate to find something to say after they've been publicly shown to be a first rate twat without a clue.

Red and Blue spandex is so yesterday. You should choose something more appropriate for today's fashions. Maybe purple and yellow? Be sure to put the yellow vertically down your spine to let everyone know exactly what kind of character you have. Oh, and don't forget your codpiece; a HUGE one. You wouldn't want everyone to not instantly know you're much more manly than they are as you drive by in your truck to toss packages out the back.

Fuck, you could even have a sign all your own if you really felt desperate enough for attention. I suggest a smoke ring. Or something else with an unmistakable resemblance to an asshole.
Do you often daydream about men in Spandex? Not that there's anything wrong with that, obviously.

dudly, if that's all you got, go back to slapping your meat around.

Why do you embarrass yourself like that?

Interesting things I've read so far

1. re the Chinese outbreak:
According to several Chinese scientists, there were two strains S(the initial one) and L, a more aggressive one derived from S.
L was quite prevalent (70%) before the strict lockdown but decreased remarkably by the end of february, in places like Wuhan where lockdown was imposed.
So they concluded that the lockdown selected out the second, more virulent strain.
Other (Western) scientists disputed these findings (small samples and so on).

re the Italian outbreak:
Spanish scientists said that the one in Italy/Spain is a mutated, different strain from the one in China. And the strains from various regions of Italy (Lombardy included) have slightly different mutations.
Scientists (but for one Italian virologist, deemed crazy by her peers) don't attach any sinister significance to these mutations.

2. Unlike SARS-CoV, Covid19 contains mutated gene similar to those found in HIV and Ebola. Which makes it more insidious and more infectious.

3. RNA viruses typically have high mutation rates, which are correlated with enhanced virulence and evolvability. On the other hand, too high mutations can cause RNA viruses to go locally extinct.

4. People have been debating whether it's better to "flatten out the curve" (social distancing, self-isolation of those at risk -- which some countries have been doing) versus "stomping out" the curve (total lockdown).
Both could have similar effects, since such RNA viruses are more virulent in the beginning but become less virulent with time. 'Herd immunity' and the genetic makeup of the virus.

Pros of 'stomping' the virus (lockdown) are: fewer lives lost, avoiding overstretching & gutting a life-saving medical system. Cons: economy? & might the virus return after the quarantine?

Hei hobbit, I just read this:
What do you think of it?

United Kingdom Boosts IMF’s Catastrophe Relief Fund with £150 million
https://www.imf.org/en/News/Article...s-catastrophe-relief-fund-with-gbp150-million

My questions:

Leaving aside the fact that they should look after their own first, hospitals and such
If they feel so generous, why aren't the UK govt. giving this money directly to those in need?

Instead of giving ot to the most controversial lending agency in history,
whose conditions of loans have been said to have destroyed infrastructures or bankrupted countries like Greece?

because our government is a right wing bunch of twats who are just clever enough to realise that to make an economy work you need wage slaves. they learnt from the debacle of world war 1 edawrdian England.

Or indeed India, which has a space programme and nuclear submarine. while pensioners starve and peope live from food banks and on the streets.

meanwhile the queen is in her castle.

Meanwhile, first Latvian has died from covid-19, a 68 year old man, but in London not in Latvia.

Hes a tranny, his brain doesn't work properly.

Transsexualism has nothing to do with intelligence. In fact, transsexuals (aka trannies) have overall intelligence scores than the general populace. Transsexuals tend to be creative and open to new ideas (and open-toed shoes, obviously) while some are masters at mathematics and measurements.

You are not transexual. What kind of overall intelligence do they possess?

;) ;)

1,650 Americans die each day from cancer

400 Americans die each day from stroke

250 Americans die each day from medical errors (medical diagnosis, record-keeping, drug administration, surgery or blood transfer)

But more might die in those categories if intensive care beds are taken by Covid-19 victims.

OK, let's take diabetes since the 230 is similar to the U.S. death toll from Covid-19 these last few days.

Is there general alarm about deaths from diabetes? No.

Would there be if diabetes was something that didn't even exist 3 months ago? I imagine so.
