How good are you at asking for what you want? If you don't receive it right away, do you persist? When do you give in?

I quite like living in a world where I dont have to ask for anything. If I want it, I usually find a way to make it happen. I go and do as I please irl and am thankful that I have a partner who lets me do that.

If I need something from a partner, I will kind of beat around the bush at first. Mainly because I don't like asking. Then, I will come out with it. I will make it clear to them that it's important and leave the ball in their court. How they react says a lot about how they feel about me. If I don't get it, I try and understand why - did I ask too much? was I pushing a boundary? is it just not feasible at the moment?

I don't chase people so... I guess we call it giving in? I'm good to people who are good to me. And I just quietly move on if someone doesn't.

What's your go to cocktail or beverage of choice? Does it change when you're home v when you're out with a crowd?

I don’t really know enough about cocktails to have multiple favorites. I rarely drink, and they’re too expensive for me to really get to know. I can’t remember the last time I had one at home. Probably a dark and stormy would always be welcome, though.

Mountain Dew. If I am feeling frisky, I will add a dash of orange juice. Shaken...not stirred.

Daytime: Sweet tea, vanilla iced coffee, or if I'm feeling fancy, mocha frap.

Evening: Depends. If I'm at my guy's house i drink whatever he fixes us, because he knows what he's doing and I like trying new things. Last time it was White Russians (not new). YUM.

If I'm going dancing and I just want to chug something and get out there, a couple of greyhounds get me jump-started pretty well.

I don’t have a go-to. Just depends on what I’m doing. But a dirty martini with extra olives is one of my favorites.

Margaritas when out. When I'm home it's usually Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon straight or mixed with lemonade. Lately, though, I'm making margaritas at home.

You mean, olives with vodka. I’ve seen your martinis! Mine are the same.

My true love is wine. Anything not sweet.

Lately it’s been water. Tons of it.

I tried my first White Claw last night. Meh.

I also like hard cider. G&T or V&T.

I am not really a brown liquor gal, but I do love Irish coffee.

I don’t think a partner can always know what you want and/or need. Those shift over time and need to be communicated. Granted, it’s not always that easy for a variety of reasons. But I think a lot of resentment can built up in thinking someone that loves you will be able to sense what you want/need.

Moscow Mules and Margaritas

Or just whiskey with two ice cubes.

I have alcohol maybe three or four times a year and that usually a Bloody Mary while flying to make it easy to go to sleep.

My "go to" beverage is usually coffee (regular during the day, decaf toward evening) or some form of sparkling water or club soda.

Coke Zero or Diet Coke. Or beer. Local craft. If I gotta go mixed it's rum and Diet Coke.

I would have pegged you as an Old Fashioned or whiskey neat kind of guy.

As for me - I love a vodka tonic or a Moscow Mule. Or a martini. Or a gin and tonic. Or a good red wine with a steak dinner.

I may need to day drink now.

Fuck, I used to Looooove an extra dirty martini. And I still love a great Bloody Mary. So many good drinks

Let's do a little psychology experiment.

Say all your friends and family lived in the same neighborhood.

Would you rather make 75K a year while everyone else in the neighborhood made 100K? Or... would you rather make 200K a year while everyone else made 100K?

It's not a riddle.... or is it??

(I'm assuming this is take-home for simplicity of numbers, and also there's no major reason why I'm getting either 75 or 200, I just am getting one or the other) I'll take the 200k, since everyone else is getting 100k regardless. But, then I can take 100k and distribute it... somewhere. Charity, local investment determined democratically, etc.

200. Too much togetherness can be stifling. I'll use the disposable income to escape on vacation once in a while. ;)

That’s easy, 200k, not discuss income with neighbors or family, which is always prudent, while still living below my visible income level but doing the things I enjoy.

All my family lives in my neighborhood? What fucking level of hell is this experiment taking place on?

200k - don’t spend a dime beyond basic subsistence until I have enough to move somewhere far far away.
