Did you ever chat with a Bot and think it was the real thing? I have, and actually carried on a long conversation before I figured it out. Is there a way to tell?

No.

And yes. It's pretty obvious to me within the first sentence usually.
I also don't respond to strangers so if someone is messaging out of nowhere it's usually pretty obvious that they may not be what they appear

No, I haven't. Please reply with your Social Security number and mother's maiden name. ;)

How do you know this whole Forum isn't just a BOT. LoL
Happy Halloweeny.

Your sybian lasts longer than any real lover, therefore bot.

Ask bot nonsense questions. Program will fail to call you an asshole

I've had something happen recently. Am getting tons of Facebook requests. Sometimes it's obvious that the person is a scammer, but sometimes we have mutual friends so I usually accept those unless I see a reason not to.

Currently, I have two young guys messaging me. Two mutual friends with one, 11 with the other. One says he is from OK but currently building a church in Spain. The other is a student in India.

Both are boring AF. Asking me things like... What are you doing? How is your day? When I asked guy number two why he was messaging me, he said he wanted to learn English. Now that may be true as his English isn't so good. He does keep saying he is good with Jesus. When I ask him what that means, he doesn't respond although once he asked if I was a Muslim.

The weird thing is... When they reply, both on messenger and in messages, the reply comes with a truncated quote of what I said prior. That doesn't happen with anyone else. Just these two.

Somebody said they thought these guys were bots. Is there a way to tell? Mostly guy number two just responds with the word, "okay" after I say something.

Neither one has said anything out of line or mentioned romance like a scammer would. I just don't want to waste my time on bots. How can I tell?

There were two others. A local guy who asked me out right off the bat. We do have mutual musician friends. We are not going out because he's a flake. And another guy who has 11 mutual friends. I woke up to him sending me a porno. :eek:Not even a good one at that. He's history.

So how can I tell if it's a Facebook bot?

The classic test for whether something is artificially intelligent is if you can talk with it and not realize it is a machine. Maybe this should be revised to "if it can give you an orgasm"
