Don't 'quote' someone's entire huge-ass message if you're only referencing one small part or if you don't need to at all.

Fuck. Yes.

Or quote embedded photos... Especially large ones.. they only need to need to be seen the one time!

Both of these!!!! Especially so when another five or eight people ahead of you've already been foolishly lazy enough to have already done those full length quotes already. Trim the quote or paraphrase it and leave off reposting the OP's pics over and over. Its lazy and its rude, if they want to remove the pic you've made it harder to delete. Be nice don't do it.

Y’all can fuck right on off. I mean that in the nicest way possible. :)

On the long posts part, not the photos.

Sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to delete a long ass post except for the part you’re talking about. I usually make the effort, but sometimes I’m in a hurry. And doing it all on a phone sucks.

Scroll bitches. Scroll.

And be happy about it. You’re getting much needed exercise you arm chair warriors.

(I admit, it’s lazy as fuck)

Pfffft

It is hard on a phone. I also delete previous quoted messages in a private message, leaving only the one I'm replying to. I do sometimes let it go for a bit when I'm on a phone, because as you said it's harder.

Agree. It’s not like you’re reading the post again, FFS.

Friday the 13th!!!!
Do you believe in luck or fate or divine intervention, etc?

This one really made me think. I had half an answer written and then I had to delete it. I don't think there is a consciousness steering things, but I think that timing is EVERYTHING and to me that's luck or fate. Like you could run across the absolute perfect person for you on a really shitty day when you're just not looking for or receptive to that kind of thing in that moment and the connection doesn't happen.
I guess I think the universe is made up of countless interweaving happenings that all affect each other, but it sure does seem like every once in a while everything lines up. Coincidence? Luck? Fate? Maybe it's all the same thing.

Divine intervention is very rare, I believe. I’m not saying I don’t believe it. But I don’t think it’s super common.

Luck is what people make of their lives, IMO. Serene Brow has a fascinating story about people who claim to be lucky and unlucky. It follows them through their every day life. The show sets up numerous encounters- the same exact thing for both people. The lucky ones almost always get them and the unlucky always miss them. But it’s more about their outlook and approach to the world. Here it is if anyone wants to be fascinated for 45+ minutes.

Fate... I do believe there are certain people we are supposed to meet in our lives. Certain events we are supposed to see. But who knows how it happens.

Have you met me? All of those above are the only reason I am still alive!

How is that lucky? "Cause I am still alive when the odds say I should be dead..."

Well how is that Fate? "Cause I am still alive for some purpose yet unknown..."

Fine, and the divine intervention part? "How else can you explain being punted in a Honda CRX across two lanes, across a median, across a third lane, of oncoming traffic, and when you do touch down as you come to the fourth lane, you have the wheel turned at just the right angle so the car drives out of the landing instead of flipping over..."

I believe in luck and timing (good and bad)...but as a science-based person divine intervention doesn't exist much for me, though I struggle at times to find faith...because mysticism and power holds a fascination as a mystery that I can't unlock.

But so much of that which we call "luck" is timing and the mysteries of biology and physics. I use the saying "better lucky than good" often, but in reality the vagaries of the physical world around us hold the keys to everything...not a random force putting its finger on the scales of probability.

...but I still have a four-leaf clover on my office desk.

I've heard luck recently described in terms of good or bad, where I've considered it just as the flow of events beyond our control. In that context, yes, it indisputably exists, and yes, you can (to some degree) stack the deck one way or the other.

Can a person be lucky/unlucky? Inherently no, but they may appear to be for a time. Chance (or our perception of it) is weird like that.

Divine intervention? Atheist here...

Embrace the chaos.

Luck? No.

Fate? No.

Divine intervention? Definitely. More than a couple times now, something greater than me has opened a door at the exact moment and in the exact way I needed it the most. I don't know what else I could call it.

Neither. Life is a series of decisions, made by you or someone else, that put you on a path. It's not luck. Sometimes it's misinformation, determination, anger, etc that push up one way or the other. We are not rational creatures. We are self interested by nature. To me, luck - or lack of - is an excuse. But not as much of an excuse as divinity. People will blame or thank God for anything and everything, especially if it means they're off the hook.

I don't believe in luck or fate. I do believe in hard work, making good choices, and happy coincidence.

I also believe in divine intervention, although i do not believe that He micromanages us. And i believe in free will. Our lives are, to a large degree, what we make of them.

I think everything happens for a reason and purpose.

The people you meet, are put there because they are supposed to be there.
you learn from them, the good, bad, indifferent.

The experiences you have are to help you grow, one way or another.

The path you may have traveled has brought you to where you are, so you can be thankful for the journey, or the end of it.

enough deep thoughts.
I just had vodka and picklejuice, and I am starting another drunk thread.

I think luck or fate or divine whatever is a douchebag. And the only luck I believe in is bad, and it’s not true that people make their own luck because sometimes shitty things happen to good people through no fault of their own.
So I can’t balance the two

Same here. I've had it happen way too many times to not believe in it.

Luck? Not necessarily.

Fate? One can influence they're own fate by charisma.

Divine intervention? To a certain extent. I mean, Jonah got a ride to where he was going, who's to say you're not going to get some help too...
