Ask Me A Question v. 1.9.19

Yes, I am.

Do you tend to see the best in people?

That's a thrilling mixture, a religious girl actively chatting in a sometimes hot and mostly flirty forum.

I rather don't, but I struggle for it daily.

Have you ever read Dangerous Liaisons, or watched the movie, or the movie Valmont?

Have not....

Do you have a go to "move" to get things started on a date?

Yes. But ... it does not contradict science, because it's fiction. Nothing to "believe", actually, just read and learn or not.

Which bible creation story do you like better, the first or the second?

Side issue. Excuse my ignorance but I only know one bible creation story. Can someone fill me in?

In one, Adam and Eve were created at the same time to till the soil of the land. In the other, a great sleep fell upon Adam in which a rib of his was used to fashion woman. NOTE: There is no mention of Lilith anywhere in the Bible.

Does this help with your understanding?

There is only one Creation, as told in Genesis. But God, in a conversation with Job, talks about his Creation ... beautifully written. :)

True that. The conversation between God and Job comes in the form of questions rather answers, but paradoxically the answers lie within the questions.

I’m not religious in any regard, but I do enjoy reading the bible.
It comes in handy for Jeopardy!

Have you ever sat at a pottery wheel?

Lara, you know I love you. I'm not picking on you, just making the biblical facts known. I specify "biblical" because I am an atheist, but this is what the Bible has to say on the subject:

Genesis 1:26-28

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Allow me to stop here briefly to point out the word Replenish.

replenish
[rəˈpleniSH]

VERB
1. fill (something) up again.

2. restore (a stock or supply) to a former level or condition.

This means there was something here before, but what?

Okay, to the second account of creation.

Genesis 2:5-7

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Have you made candles before?

Actually, yes...sort of...as a kid I made a simple version of a candle and tried to sell them...they were silly and cheap...but I can say I made them...

When was the last unexpected visitor you had at your home?

You bet, 5th grade comprehensive California history class we made tallow candles from scratch. Yuck, but it was memorable.

When was the last unexpected visitor you had at your home?

A Panga was left on the beach overnight near my deck a few years ago. Probably a smuggler with engine trouble, but he/they got away. So my unexpected visitors were da Feds canvassing.

Have you ever witnessed a crime?

Yes. The most egregious I've seen was a hit and run where the car in front of me turned onto a side street and clipped a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The guy got a pretty solid whack and hit the ground hard, but was conscious the whole time I was there and pretty pissed off. Had to stick around to talk to the police for that one.

Not really strange, but a neighbor once gave me a couple packs of Marlboros after I helped him shovel out after a snowstorm. I'm pretty sure he knew I don't smoke. Maybe cigarettes are his love language.

What was the best pet you ever owned?

What is your favorite snack

Butterfinger, but it has to be fresh, which barely edges out the caramel dream known as Milky Way.

The gotta cross the border treat is the venerable Coffee Crisp from Canada.

What brand is your go-to walking shoes?
