Sadly, yes, because when they leave, my reaction is the same as missing a IRL friend who has moved away.
Well since you're still working for Liz, I guess we're stuck with you.

there were applications?Word.
I've stopped accepting friendship applications.
Quality over quantity. I'm tired of trying harder than other people. Also, I'm over people who don't grasp platonic friendships.

I think for me, on Lit anyway, friendships start in the threads or boards or whatever you like to call them. All of the people that I have become close to and consider them to be friends have started with either us playing in a thread or just going back and forth whether it be a serious or light hearted conversation.
In the past, I have tried to become involved and participate in certain threads on here only to be ignored or not acknowledged by the people who spend time there. These are the people that I don't consider to be friends, let alone friendly; and in the end, I don't even go in those threads anymore. I may not have a lot of "real" friends on Lit, but the ones that I do have, I treasure them with all my heart. I'd rather have a few "real" friends than a lot of fake friends. I have enough of those on facebook.![]()
Yes. It actually happens.
100%. Some of the best people I've met in my life have been here. But also... some of my most heartaching moments have been here as well. I think it's easier to make yourself vulnerable when you're online. Like there's this shroud of anonymity that makes you brave... so you open up more and can get very hurt if you're not careful. One of the worst feelings is to care so much for someone and then to be forgotten when something newer and better comes along. That seems to be the case the majority of the time when I open myself up to new friendships here.
