The current Chinese leadership believes it is their fate/right to dominate the world. Just like Hitler and Stalin before them. If they can edit genes for intelligence why not strength or speed? Or any other attribute the government feels it can use in it's planning.

It's bad enough that when this technique is perfected the wealthy of the world will use it to create their own 'designer' children but when it becomes a tool of the government we are leaping into new and very dangerous territory.
