Story. Areas of investigation include any potential illegalities regarding Trump's real estate holdings in New York; the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian official; government subsidies Trump received; whether he is in violation of the emoluments clause in the U.S. Constitution through his New York businesses; and the Trump Foundation.

Interesting that a State AG claims any authority to even investigate, let alone prosecute, federal violations.

General legal knowledge. I know that state courts often rule on questions of federal law, and, while they can be overruled by federal courts, nobody questions their jurisdiction in such matters.

Most of what was listed are clearly state violations. Knee-jerk response much? Are you really too dumb to have jumped off the Trump circus wagon yet?

Her investigations will be focused on violations of State law. (She has no Federal authority, however if a federal violation is discovered, she can turn it over to the proper authorities).

Incidentally, this shows why a sitting president should not be indicted. It would allow any politically motivated State AG, in any state (red, blue, or purple) to interfere with the Executive Branch. If allowed, you can rest assured that every President from here on out will be indicted by someone on something.

Trump is the one openly interfering with the executive branch, of course. :D

General legal knowledge.

Really? You mean the very same "General legal knowledge" HisArpy also claims to expertly possess on this forum? Maybe you two need to agree on a neutral latrine to debate your "General legal knowledge" before you each proclaim your own obviously biased version of "legal knowledge" is anywhere close to being "General"?

Wow.

First, she ran on a platform to outlaw double jeopardy. Now she's going to make it her life's mission to "investigate" Trump, his family, and his friends/associates.

Secondly, the State has no authority to prosecute Federal level offenses UNLESS the Federal Statute authorizes it. Not all Federal Statutes do so. Most of the ones that do are usually in areas like Civil Rights such as discrimination.

Any State AG who attempts to "investigate" Federal crimes for purposes of political views/preferences is engaging in legal misconduct and harassment under color of law.

How Tish James shamelessly milked the public

If I'm not mistaken, the incoming AG is Letitia James. For your reading pleasure...
Public Advocate Letitia James didn’t just take $750,000 in public money that she didn’t need for her campaign this year: She spent $500,000 of it on Election Day itself — dumping money she’d otherwise have been obliged to return.

Guess you diehard Trumpettes will just have to sit back impotently and watch what actually happens. :D

Nonsense. The prosecution of Boss Tweed was politically motivated -- that does not mean there was anything improper about it. When was a prosecutor ever punished by the state or disciplined by the bar for bringing a politically motivated prosecution?

If you are guilty, nothing erases that guilt. And anyone who doesn't know the multiple crimes and corruption that Donald Trump is guilt of is hiding under a rock with his/her hands over their ears--and probably just as morally corrupt as Trump is.

Oh boy, the new AG for New York is in trouble, because she does not know as much as our local Lit ambulance-chaser.

Look on the bright side, Harpy, perhaps Trump can get a pardon from the Governor if any of this comes to pass. Relax and go cruising in your Cadillac.

Arpy can't hear you. He's on his way to New York to tell them what they can and can't do (while they're doing it).
