"Yesterday as I was about to leave a village in northern Alaska- a village of about 500 where they have had 3 suicides in the last 6 months- we literally drove by a young person on a bridge threatening to take his life (police were on the scene, as was the persons family, and we were moved along before the situation ended- the officer was doing an amazing job talking to the young person, and the situation seemed under control). I remain deeply troubled by this encounter, especially as only an hour before, I had spoken to and hugged another villager who recently lost a child to suicide. I thought about my 3 children, and how it would break my soul if I had to deal with something like this as their parent."

If this was indeed true, You would not be seeing ConocoPhillips investing huge sums into the infrastructure withing NPR-A. Mr Leimkuhler might stick to the drilling portion of the industry where he has experience.
