I was the same, but while he still followed me around and engaged with the family, ate and didn't seem to be in pain, I could look past his slow decline. He enjoyed his days, when he as awake. Then one morning he didn't come out of his kennel and meet me at the clothes line, and I knew he had enough. I waited for the kids to come home so they could say goodbye which was not until late that night. By then, he was obviously very poorly and I decided not to wait until our regular vet opened in the morning and we went to an emergency vet where we stayed with him as he passed quickly and peacefully in my arms.
Say goodbye, let her go, and then hold on to the thoughts of your life together.![]()

She did actually get up on our own this morning but I know she is done and I must do something in the next day or 2. I'm trying to make arrangements
