Unfortunately, I think the effect will impact negatively on women in the business world and in other areas of society dominated by males who will now overreact with highly circumspect interactions with women within their areas of endeavor. Many well-managed companies like my own have for years had quiet policies in place that set guidelines for professional interactions between male and female employees.

I think this site will change as society changes.

I believe there will be very little change in the popularity of this site. The primary draw is smut, and that won't change more than very slightly, unless Laurel decides to eliminate stories about sexual harassment.

I think women have a better chance of ending the casting couch in Hollywood than reforming the business world. I also think making Money is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to business. Hollywood is more about the social status of celebrity and power over others IMO.

More people like me just not hiring them.....lot of Adrina's out there desperate for victimhood and looking for it anywhere they can so they can get paid without doing anything but being offended. Professional victims galore in California.

I don't want that fucking nightmare wrecking my world, so I only hire guys, mostly Mexican because they bitch less but the Nigerian, Hmong and Viet guys are pretty good too. White boys are almost as bad as white women.

How many times has a female colleague commented on your tits? How about whether you got laid the night before? Have you ever been asked if your PMS is the reason you're not all happy-happy-joy-joy on a particular day?
My guess is NEVER.
Yet this sort of comment is thrown out to women constantly.
Do you think we like it when men speak to us this way? Heads up - we don't.
But we put up with it because all too often it is a person senior to us that makes these sorts of comments, and we are all too aware that if we bite back there is a distinct possibility that we will be labelled as '...not a team player....' and in all likelihood something like that will follow us as we try to progress in our chosen career.

The only reason you lament that it's 'a slightly colder place' and 'too bad' is because now, for the first time in history, women expect men to be held to the same standards that men treat their male counterparts.
And we are coming out in spades, showing just how much inequality there has been.

Maybe my experience was different from yours, but I rarely witnessed such obnoxious behaviors in the workplace. People who make jokes - yes.

Are some types of work environments more prone to such things than others?

I think, based on the #metoo responses I have read over the past couple of weeks, that inappropriate behaviour by SOME men occurs in every single workplace.
The reports now coming out by women across the spectrum are showing that this sort of behaviour is not restricted to certain types of workplace.

I am happy that you feel you have not been victim to obnoxious behaviour personally.
It's nice to hear that someone has made it through without any harassment!
