Strike three - you're out.

After years of repeated attempts it was supposed to be so different once they took power and had a republican president.

Bwahahahaha.

Perhaps impotent is a better way to describe them and their failure to repeal the ACA.

Good times. :D

Driven by ideology yet they seem to have very few ideas. Except some bad ones.

Not to mention, that they don't know how to get anything done.

Almost a year, and not a single piece of landmark legislation. The republicans are complete and utter failures.

At this point, there's no argument against that. They have shown that they can't get anything done.

Honestly, it's getting embarrassing.

209 reasons Dems aren't ready for the 2018 midterms

209.

That’s the number of counties nationwide that voted for Barack Obama twice and flipped (voted for the GOP presidential candidate) last November, sentencing the country to the tragic soap opera known as the Trump administration. And with the 2018 midterms just 14 months away Democrats have done shockingly little to address their 2016 electoral demons.

Thus far, Democrats have managed to hobble through a Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman election that highlighted a half-hearted attempt to bridge deep internal divisions and avoid much needed reform, roll-out a pathetic rebranding campaign encompassed by a slogan lifted from a fast food chain, lose Congressional special elections and witness their fallen heroine publish a whining, petty, dishonest account of the 2016 election she deemed a sabotage job led by a false prophet and his disillusioned followers. So much for learning from a historically bad 2016.

Much of the "ideology" has a liberal slant. Many Senate Republicans fear taking away free stuff from able-bodied, working-age adults. That's why you are seeing these watered-down versions of "repeal."
By the way, I don't think any of the failed proposals would have done much good in terms of slowing the skyrocketing costs of health care, so maybe it's a good thing for Republicans that none of them passed.
But that's very bad for a lot of Americans, particularly those in the middle class.

This administration is definitely a circus. They've made the highest office in the land a bad joke.

Congress is almost as bad.

I appreciate this statement my only argument is Congress is a bigger Circus and the Executive branch is full of a media CLOWN. (remember people he is one of them).

Problem is they're full of hate and bias AGAINST things the people want and aren't really FOR anything the people want.

People keep saying Rump is the lead clown. He's the Clown in the Window seat of the car everybody sees, but the real lead clown is McConnel. HE is the reason nothing can get done.

Ditch Mitch and you might see change begin.

THAT will almost certainly take regulation similar to the airlines and telecoms of the past .... which probably need to go back to that also.

It will certainly require slashing regulations and getting government out of the health care business. You don't add government to cut costs and improve service.

And let the likes of Bresch and Shkreli set prices?

Yeah, that worked well.

Ultimately the electorate is to blame. Many people are ignorant of the way government works , are functionally illiterate, and only believe what they see on Fox News. For example, look at the Kimmel on the street interviews where people were asked, "As President why didn't Obama do more to prevent the 911 attacks?" Got a lot of responses along the lines of, "He should have done something, that's why I don't like Obama!"

When the interviewer pointed out that Obama wasn't in the oval office when the attacks took place one genius said,"Yeah that's what I mean, he SHOULD have been instead of out playing golf!"

So we have Trump because as a nation we DESERVE Trump. And herpes.

The UK pays less than half per capita what the US does and we get better health care.

Next up: trying to tie repeal and tax reform to the 2018 budget.

I don't see that going well either.

Yeah, that worked well.

Actually, I'd just like to know what the prices are.
I don't live in a metropolitan area, but there are four hospitals within an hour's drive, including one a bit more than a mile away. They are competing for my business. I'd like to see a menu for a wide array of medical services and who will perform them before I make a decision.
That will bring down prices.

Actually they are not. The pricemaster sets the prices and then the insurance companies negotiate the rates they will pay.

Big picture: Gups started painting themselves into a corner over a couple generations ago. Nixon's "Southern Strategy" turned the party in a club for a dying demographic. Reagan's FCC gutting the Fairness Doctrine turned media outlets into unbalanced shout-outs. Murdoch built Fauz Newz as the RNC propaganda forum.

And their sole message was: Libs EVIL. Everyone to left of Genghis Khan EVIL. No compromise -- that's surrender. Make up newz to make libs look more evil. NO COMPROMISE, ONLY DOMINANCE! SUBMIT, YOU ATHEIST LIB QUEER COMMIE DOGS! And laugh about the fun of killing libs.

Alas, most citizens of USA don't care for Guppy agenda of bloat-the-rich and screw everyone else. Guppy leaders promised their base they could dominate but they just don't have the clout, never will. That's the "paint themselves into a corner" bit. They can never deliver what they've promised. Their base are mainly old white men who'll politically kill anyone suggesting compromise.

Governance requires compromise. Gups won't compromise. Thus, Gups can't govern. That's where they've positioned themselves.
