Yes, it is. ;)

:rose::kiss:
And a good fairly early morning out here in the Sierra Nevadas, too. Wildfire smoke is way down. Sprinkles around the upcountry thunderstorms cleaned the air some. The neighbors ain't started chainsawing yet and the dogs seem sedated. A good Irish-made cup of Guatemalan coffee with a splash of silver tequila sets the tone. [/me sips] Oh damn, the dogs are awake. Time for music.

Yesterday was shopping down in the county seat. Today is resting. Tomorrow will be another run to the retinologists and maybe another laser in the eyeball. I'll be glad when this is over. To celebrate, we'll hit a music show: Irma Thomas, the Blind Boys of Alabama, and the Preservation Hall Quintet. Yeah, we like classical. :cool:

Dogs have shut up again. Pour another cuppa. Contemplate the sky. Ah...

:rose::kiss:

I'm trying to decide what to do today.

Read your E-mail, perhaps {mega grovel }

I just found the promo video of that show; it looks real good.
.
Contemplate the sky round here is an invitation to get rain in your eyes.

Coffee, I think.

In a bit more than a week, I’ll be flying to Ethiopia again. After quite some form-filling and stamp-collecting, mum-in-law did get her visa, and I will accompany her to our country.

Safe travels :rose:

I actually got some writing and plotting done today. Now, if I can just do that daily. Sigh

Apparently there is currently a cholera-outbreak in the area, although the government prefers to refer to it as “acute watery diarrhea”, so I guess I’ll try to be a bit more careful about what I eat and drink. Fortunately, coffee is always safe.

You be careful now, that “acute watery diarrhea” is no laughing matter. Altho if yu want a rapid weightless program ..... Coffee? Use boiling water AND iodine. Iodine kills most bugs.... tablets or tincture. But you've been there before and survived so I guess you know ...

Have a fun trip. :rose:

It was a nice this morning. I could see four hot air balloons from my front porch. Then I got in the car and sat in traffic for 50 minutes for what should be a 20-minute commute. Fatal accident on the freeway, traffic diverted off from major streets to residential streets, poorly managed road construction, and on and on.

There were more balloons, though.

Well, that solved the getting up early problem. Just stay in bed. Great company helped a lot. :D

Now that i am up, uh, out of bed, let there be coffee!

You'll find the coffee waiting for you; just to the left of the Kettle.

Good Evening one and all.

And the evening has come. Fresh coffee and a new kettle.

This ended up a relaxing day. Why I don't know but it has. Maybe it was the way it started. With a bang is always a good way to start a day. :D

Happy Hump Day.

Good Job on the coffee HP. Have you tried your equivalent of the UPS stores? They have all sorts of boxes. Of course, they are for sale and not free.

I spoke too soon on the shoulder.

My local Post Office is the nearest thing we have for a new box (of approved size, obviously). I must see about UPS sometime.
What's p1$$ikng me off is that there was a great rush of "please, please send it soon", and I forked out extra for "Special delivery". Come to check tracking this morning, and she's not taken delivery of it!
Bah !

I didn't know about the iodine. Wish I'd known that one a few decades ago.
I managed to loose a great deal in less than a month.
I was being treated for cancer at the time, though !
:rose:

PS. Fancy a bit of a giggle ?
Look at the crashes - HERE.

Wake up between two warm bodies.
The coffee can wait, believe me.

One is in the shower and the other is on my lap.
Inspiration is such a wonderful thing.

The coffee ain't bad either.

<somewhat envious>

Today is dedicated to remembering the Battle of Britain.
There's a very good old filmed report by Quentin Reynolds: "London can take it".
It says a great deal, but does not mention the other cities plastered by the Luftwaffe.

Coffee, I think.

Cool again today, less smoke, slight mountain drizzle.
Pain again yesterday. A needle in the eyeball does that.
Yeah, good hot coffee. Yeah, dosed with tequila and Aleve.
Next eyeball session in a month. We'll hang at the coast first.
Stuck out between the Mendocino Beano and the Camarillo Brillo.

Pain is fatiguing. News is fatiguing too.
Storm fatigue, Tromp fatigue, reality fatigue.
Would you rather be tasered or read the latest leaks?

Some of you may have seen the old film THE RIGHT STUFF. Astronaut training included desensitization sessions. Horrible things are done to your body and mind until they seem natural, beneath notice. Do depictions of the outside world desensitize us to horror? Does instant coffee desensitize us to fast food? Do fast foods desensitize us to fast foods? [/me drinks more coffee, munches granola bar] Reality desensitizes me to reality. That's probably necessary.

Thoughts & Prayers, mate.

More coffee, perhaps ? I'm having tea (it's late round here).

The heat came back today, it appears summer isn't done with us here. :rolleyes:

I'm pleased with the progress on my story for Halloween, though there is a LOT to write before I ever start editing. I may have an enforced break from work though, water pump on my car is dying.

Have to work tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend, folks. :rose:

Shower and bed soon. Fresh coffee for the midnight crew.

I have three Halloween stories under construction but they are on the back burner as I'm behind on my self imposed novel schedule. This shoulder has played hell with my writing time.

Have a good night all.
