Late spring or late fall?
Cold beer or ice cold water?
Scratching the itch or succumbing to the sneeze?
Sunrise or sunset?

Answers must be in the form of an long winded essay, the length of which is determined by the respondent.

:)

The late spring sun was slowly setting, as I sat down with my cold beer. Looking into the sun, I felt the urge to sneeze. My thoughts went back to that late fall sunrise, and the taste of that cold water soothing that itch.

Walks in and surveys the mess. Bleach, fire hose, Mr Clean, and some beer. Looks like the landlord has been a little lax on his tenants. Makes note to rectify things. Takes names, too

Sent you my Skype address, I'll take my punishment there please. And because I'm super sweet, I'll take responsibility for everyone's mischief.

I'll be back for the daily question, another esspresso is calling my name.

Late spring. It's warm enough to start to feel summertime approaching, but the humidity hasn't really started and everything is so green and lush. The nights are still cool and crisp, which I love.

Ice cold water always hits the spot. There are moments that call for beer and at that time, an icy cold beer is just about the best thing on earth. But ice cold water is like a comfy bed or sweater...it just feels good.

Scratching the itch, hands down.

Sunset. It is more spectacular and feels like nature's way of tucking you in for the night. Especially when viewed on a beach and/or around a bonfire. Everything closes in and gets cozy as the sun sets.

(For me, that's waxing-poetic-essay-level shit right there.)

It was a dark and stormy night in the late fall. As I surveyed my rustic surroundings from within my old and creaky car, I mused that late spring was a much more agreeable time of the year. I shivered as a series of drops of ice cold water fell onto my head from the leaky roof of the car. I wanted to be inside, in the warm, with a cold beer, watching for the sunrise at dawn instead of having to endure the fading light at sunset and its progression into this murky night. I held back a sneeze as the droplets of water continued their downward path, taking a slow journey past my ears before cascading down my neck. As the irritation grew in magnitude, I made a pivotal decision: I was going the scratch the itch, right there and then.
.

I...seem to be wordless.

A state which I find rather disturbing....

Late fall is my favorite time of year. Long sleeves and jeans...a warm jacket for the evenings. Crunchy leaves at your feet. Pumpkins and being thankful. The crisp, coolness in the air plays in your mind, reminds you that the cycle of the year is nearing it's end. It makes me look back over my shoulder a bit, thinking of whether I grew enough during the warmer seasons...was I fruitful? Is my psyche ready for the frozen, dead months? Then looking ahead to breath on frosted glass, mittens and hot chocolate...you feel ready for the hibernation, ready to be still. Ready to wait until the bloom returns.

Always ice cold water, satisfaction of succumbing to the sneeze and sunsets with the one you love...or alone...either way, the end of the day is sweet like late fall.

Long winded enough? :)

The calendar said it was late spring, but it felt like summer. I liked the heat. I felt at home in the 100+ temperatures. The dry wind whisked any sweat away as quickly as it caked sand to any exposed skin as we bounced across the open dessert. It'd been 7 months since my last beer and at least as many weeks since I'd had anything close to ice cold.

I kept my eyes to the horizon, ignoring the itch from the days old sand filled beard I'd been growing since we rolled out; a sneeze would be nice to clear the same sand from my sinuses. We watched the small collection of huts and makeshift buildings the inhabitants called home, and we called the objective as we waited for sunset and the cover of darkness to make our move.

By sunrise we'd be gone, having accomplished what we came to do. And with our backs to the dawning day we'd head for the next objective, the next town, the next home. We had several more months to go until late fall, when we could go back to our own homes. Several more months of drinking heat, eating sand, and dreaming of cold beers and hot women. I smiled to myself, I love this time of the year, I love the heat.

Late Spring bring the crisp smell of rain, blooming trees and flower's perfume tickling my nose. Birds building nests and baby bunnies hopping about. Life waking up again from a long winter slumber.
My nose tickling, the fingers touching the tip softly, almost coaxing the sneeze out. Anticipation building, frantically looking or digging for a Kleenex just incase. And then the Achoo! I smile softly thanking myself for it being a dry sneeze.
A cold beer in a frosty mug, the perfect way to end the evening while sitting on the patio.
Sunrise, watching the colors crest over the horizon. Waiting for that little peek of sun to boldly appear. It holds nothing back as it rises up, showing us the magnitude of its warmth. The start of a new day filled with possibility and determination.

Bright sky, shades of
Carolina blue
finches singing their
song of spring

A tall glass
droplets of condensation
sliding slowly down
born of the ice water inside

Newly blossomed
star magnolia
tiny stars of white
setting off a round of sneezes

There, inside the stillness
the moment of sunrise
all song and sensation
all life and perfection

Wowsers!! I've never been awarded anything for my writing before. I'm honored, thank you very much.

Can I have my award in the form of an erotic Italian leg lamp?

Well now, back to regularly scheduled programming.

Rechargeable toys, perhaps I am a toy noob. What's your noob?

Social media. I avoid it like the plague and, as a result, am woefully (yet blissfully) ignorant.

Hailing from the keystone state

I'm clueless about cell phones and all the apps that go with it. I'm sure I can figure it out on my own, eventually, if I had one, but I can't fathom what, or perhaps why you would use a phone for anything other than a phone.

Beyond that, I'm a noob regarding people. Things people think are important, like social networks, or apps for cell phones just gives me a headache trying to figure out why people do such things.

I'm a noob regarding travel. I've never been anywhere that required a passport or changing planes or anywhere further than a long drive.

There are many places I'd love to see but know that I never will. I will remain a travel noob.
