Your Ford Thread

You know, if two people are going to drive the same truck, then power mirrors make a lot more sense.

My truck is truly Plain Jane, so it ain't got squat for options. I set the mirrors 10 years and 7 months ago, so . . . .

I'm in some pain today, so Pretty Things are appealing.

The previous owner of my truck must have been a serial mirror adjuster. The ball and sockets were so worn and the mirrors wouldnt stay in the same place longer than 3miles.
Praise Devcon!
:D

And it was fun watching the Jack Reacher car chase with his SS Chevelle. I'd have lent him a hat, too.

If you recall from the novels, Reacher was not a great driver.

He's also 10" taller than Cruise.

Sounds like the mirror on my '65 Dodge Polara. IT's just old-n-tired, I think. I think I'll clear silicone caulk it where I want it . . . and exit the passenger's side.

A Chevelle ain't all that roomy for a guy who is 6'-5", but the seats did go back a fer piece, so . . . maybe.

Jimmy Reece, you say???

I never read the books, so . . . .

The novels are much better than the movie.

I get my Ford back today and if she ate or drank in it, she's going to get an earful.

;) ;)

I don't allow that shit...

PS, they are power mirrors, but they don't have the presets...

She likes to put them so all of them see what is behind her.

I set them to cover my blinds spots so that as someone in the left lane starts overtaking me, their passenger headlight is leaving the inside mirror as the diver's headlight is popping up in my driver-side mirror. This sometimes takes a bit of fine-tuning to get perfect.

Now why does that not surprise me, even a little bit???

Terrible driving.

At least he actually caught shit. It wasn't like Bullshit where they had to stop the Charger three times so the slow-ass Ford could catch up so they could continue the bullshit scene.

Worst car I ever had was a Ford. It was always going into the shop for repairs.

I've never owned one, but my parents had two - three if you count the '53 they had when I was a tike. Last year of the flatheads. That one and the '66 were both miserable - the '53 from Mom's reckoning and the '66 from mine. The Pinto was actually a decent car.

I eat. All others starve. Except Junior. He "gets it."

I do the same. I keep the passenger side mirror set low so little shitboxes cunt sneak up on my blind quarter, so's I don't crush them if'n I has to get the fuck over. The driver's side is set lower and out so I can just reference the left rear corner. I don't have a shell, so I can actually see out of the inside rear view, which is, of course, for dead behind viewing.

If the truck were any higher - and it's the highest 4x2 I know of - I'd get a fisheye for the right side.

Or put sidemount spares on it and get a mirror to go on top . . . .
