Your Ford Thread

Some years ago roommate and I replaced his Pinto's transmission. Somehow (probably being stoned) we neglected to fill it with tranny fluid. We decided to go over town to buy beer (because it was Sunday) and the sucker froze up on us on the way back home.

Expensive lesson! Oh, yeah, and the cops took our beer. :(

Yeah, I used to get excited finishing something and couldn't wait to crank it back up.

Like the time i was tuning and changing the oil in my old Olds. I tested out the tune-up . . . and hadn't refilled the crankcase.

It tolerated it for the 90 seconds it ran, proving the Oil Film theory.

And leaving a wrench under the hood and losing it on the road somewhere . . . .

I have a tool for pert near everything.

I just don't know where the Queen has put most of them...

The Old Man used to dog me for that kind of shit. I thought he was mean, I thought he was cruel.

Then my little brother started losing my shit leaving it all over Hell's half-acre . . . .

:)

2,563.00 cu in

I only get 2,562 CI.

I suspect a rounding error somewhere.

The Queen call it organizing...

She's really big on getting things organized but staying organized seems to be impossible because even she doesn't remember where she puts things.

Fucking gorgeous...

I have to take the Queen's car in for a radiator flush this morning. I hate driving her car, even more I hate readjusting the mirrors of the F150. I had them right where I wanted them too.

All real Ford people hate Chevy people, right? Right??!?

Truth is, I rag on both of them, being a Mopar guy, but in the end, they're all car guys.

And it was fun watching the Jack Reacher car chase with his SS Chevelle. I'd have lent him a hat, too.

And then there was the mighty 409 . . . .

“The biggest advantage is the delivered bolt-on performance that is better than original cast-iron versions. These heads will add value and horsepower to the build they end up on. We have built a 409ci engine with a single four-barrel carburetor using our entire Top End Kit, and have achieved 451 horsepower and 474 lb./ft. of torque using 91 octane pump gas. A factory, dual-quad equipped 409ci engine was only rated at 425 horsepower from the factory.
