Per the Constitution, the federal government cannot examine the contents of your computer against your will without obtaining a warrant first (a process which has become despicably corrupted itself - read the article).

So, why not just employ others to do your illegal searches for you in intentional efforts to completely end-around Amendment IV?

Plus, surely no Geek would ever plant "evidence" on the unallocated space on a computer's drive just to score a quick $500, right?

The federal government is employing representatives to intentionally try to skirt exactly what the Constitution forbids them to do.

The federal government then goes even further by intentionally lying and deceiving to obtain warrants themselves.

Each federal government agent involved in this case found guilty of knowingly participating in its blatantly criminally should spend the rest of their lives behind bars without any possibility of parole.

It is time to reestablish that the federal government is COMPLETELY subservient to the Constitution, and that when it acts intentionally to violate it, all those who conspired to so traitorously violate the inalienable liberty of any American must pay the full price with their own liberty.

Which is exactly why we never send storage in for service where I work. Personally, I always have a clean boot drive if I ever need something serviced.

You can bet that this activity will increase under trump. J edgar Hoover... You ain't seen nothing yet. He'll be starting with Meryl Streep.

As despicable as the FBI's alleged conduct is in this case, your over-the-top call for life imprisonment is patently idiotic. ALL criminal penalties are legislatively enacted at the state and federal levels, even criminal penalties for corrupt actions by government officials. No legislative body is going to impose such a severe penalty for such an act when the transgression has not resulted in actual unwarranted conviction and imprisonment of an aggrieved defendant.

Imprisonment for willful violation of a defendant's Constitutional rights may well be appropriate. But try to maintain a modicum of perspective here.

There is nothing more civilly repulsive than witnessing the federal government maliciously exercise - with certain intent - omnipotent power which the Constitution purposely denies it.

Life without parole is far more benevolent than the guillotine such devious crime against individual liberty actually merits.
