When we sell trees at the club it includes a large bag to encompass the tree. We suggest people just fold it back down and then when getting rid of tree pull it back up and over. Keeps the dried needles from getting everywhere.

Some folk have been coming for 20 years. Now we have customers with there young ones whose parents brought them.

Very good idea. I have seen the bags for sale in the States but I have not seen them here.
Then again, I was not looking.

Two contractor sized garbage bags will do the trick. One in place at the bottom ready to go and another slipped over the smaller top end. A very dry tree could indeed drop enough needles between the living room and the door to be turning up for a few vacuuming cycles.

Taking down the tree, cleaning up and putting ornaments away is harder than setting thing up in the first place. Par for the course.
