What do you make of all this fake news, does it affect you?

If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you do read it, you're misinformed.

So what do you do?

That's the great question. What is the long-term effect of too much information? One of the effects is the need to be first, not even to be true anymore. So what a responsibility YOU all have. To tell the truth, not just to be first, but to tell the truth. We live in a society now where it's "just first." Who cares, get it out there, we don't care who it hurts, we don't care who we destroy, we don't care if it's true. Just say it, sell it. Anything you practice, you'll get good at. Including BS.

— Denzel Washington stunting on a reporter at the Fences premiere who asked him about "news" of him switching support of Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump

I just watched an entire half hour show of a woman making a poodle dress for a doll...

Thank you PBS.

Snow is good. Snow is glorious. The cold is healthy. The heat is unhealthy. The cold makes you stronger! The heat weakens you.

Was 39 degrees yesterday. Too hot for me to take the kids to the beach after work. Hot today, hotter tomorrow. I'm laying on my bed naked with the balcony doors open. No work today. :)

I watched a 14 minute long video detailing how one patches a $30,000 tire (construction vehicle). I was fascinated from start to finish but at 11:30 minutes in, I found myself thinking "They're using CUSHION GUM for that?! Are they just going to stitch it a whole bunch?!" They did use cushion gun (and lots) and they did just stitch it a whole bunch. Mind you, at the start of the video I had no idea what cushion gum nor stitching were. :D

I used a new tonne mail service this week and so am tracking it to see how efficient it is. It's so good it does something crazy
With time: it tells me my parcel
Was exported two hours in the future. Impressive.
Hi Elle!
What is a tonne mail service? I hope it delivers your item safely.

I am doing dangerous things next week. I am trying to perfect a pecan pie recipe for a couple of Christmas gifts. The danger is that I need to make a test pie and I will be all alone with it.

I had no Idea on how to make a plete stitch on a miniature skirt before this!

Now, the question is, what do we do with this knowledge? I highly doubt you'll ever find yourself in the situation to patch a gigantic tire.. Just as I highly doubt I'll ever have to make a poodle skirt for a doll... It is all lost? Did we push something useful out of our brains to make this new memory? Will I not remember how to tie a tie the next time I need to wear one!? Fuck!!!

Perhaps it will come in handy at the next quiz night down at the pub? ;)

I want very badly to try my hand at patching a huge tire now that I've seen how it's done. It looks very satisfying. I can't see how I'd ever have the chance to take a crack at it, but it is a little satisfying just knowing how it's done, too.

I don't no what a poodle skirt is, but it sounds fun. Could you make a full sized one with your new knowledge?

No, a 10x12 inch of felt is my limit...

Google 50's poodle skirts. My mom wore one when she went to see a very young Elvis.

It's a typo :) 'new to me' it should have read. 🦄

The pecan pie recipe I use is pretty good, if you want you can have it and just risk no test pie?
Ah! I was rather curious to learn what the tonne mail service was!

I would love to see what your recipe is. I'm happy with the one I've got (using only egg yolks, and including heavy cream). I'm just not confident about the ingredient substitutions. That said, it's the depth and texture of the pie I'm more concerned with right now. I hope the yolks and cream will lighten it up. Last year's attempt I had the ingredients shipped over from home - but cooking it in the wrong tin ruined it. The Danes don't do pies and so they do not have proper pie tins. They do tarts, but those dishes are much wider, have straight sides and are twice as shallow. Pie was definitely edible, but it was condensed and too sweet.

Doubt poodle skirts will ever come up in conversation or trivia... Maybe tho!

You should make a trip to your local large equipment dealer.. Ask about patching a tire...

I've got a good one if you want it. I hate pecan pie but every one requests that I make it. Not too sweet. I think....

I think I'd have better luck asking if I could do a maintenance check on a wind turbine ;) I think it will be more fun to take on the challenge of working "pleat stitching" or "cushion gum stitching" into casual conversation. :D

The ferryman thing got me thinking. Even though I'm not of Norse decent, a viking funeral would be pretty epic.

Load me on a wooden boat with casks of oil, shove me off and set it all ablaze.

Sacrificial concubine optional.

Very true..... Next time I'm with the fellas at the yard office I will try and work in plete sticking. In honesty, they probably wouldn't bat an eye.
