Trader Joe's Habanero sauce will wake your tastebuds up. I am sure the green stuff will do the same.

It's not cold that will keep me off me bicycle this year. I'm prepared for and can deal with that. 'tis snow and ice that will keep me from venturing forth (and, no, thør, I am NOT buying a fat bike for 8 weeks worth of use each year !)

:) :)

Buy some Nokian studded clinchers for your bike and go ride. Change out the pedals to platforms and wear a lightweight boot with a nonskid sole.

There's a lot you can do. Or you can just complain.

tomorrow i am trying cooking my first ever american style pancakes - just watched jamie oliver cook them and they look easy peasy

:D :D :D

Two years ago, if you'd even hinted that there was the remotest possibility that I'd even consider the idea of being out there on a bicycle in December or January, I'd have immediately reported you to the Department of Mental Health.

That sucks.

I do not go there every week. Some of their stuff is worth the drive.

Depending, I might bring some stuff home from Joe's in SF. I'm told that they won't open in AK because wine and beer can't be sold in grocery stores.

Oh, they have my name.

We had our black ice scares.

We had our minute snow flurries.

Time for a little test run, for snow accumulation.

Nothing extravagant.

Just a few inches.

We got more snow than expected. I received an early morning text from my lovely neighbor about our cars being parked on the street. Texting folks too early should be banned.

i wish i had neighbors like that

most of the time i forget about the upcoming snow and park on the street

Nazi neighbor?

She's great. It was the guy plowing that asked her to talk to us. The neighbor across the street has a large work truck he parks on our street. Between that and our cars the plow guy had a hard time maneuvering.

It's time for me to face the fact that winter is indeed here and just start parking in the back permanently.

I park in my nice heated garage.

Last year the snow plow took out my mailbox. Not the post, just the mailbox.

At my last house, one of the neighbor's mail box was constantly being taken out by cars driven by idiots. So, I gave him a nice new post made of 3"XH with a 1/2" plate welded to the top to use in place of the wooden 4x4. He filled it with concrete and put it in just before freeze-up. When it was all frozen into the ground in winter a couple cars hit it. None bent it, but one pickup truck's driver door got a slice in it courtesy of the 1/2" plate.

There ya go! The needs of the many....yada-yada.

Yep. This snow is not melting anytime soon.

Will you be staying long enough to enjoy the frigid temps here? I'll be just like home!

We had the mailbox issue at our last place. I put in a big railroad tie planter for a base. Some neighbors followed suit. On fine morning an SUV got stuck atop my neighbors.

it's not really cold here at all, but it's a lovely lazy day and i've been talking about xmas with the at-homers and watching jamie oliver cooking all manner of xmas fare... so it's the perfect time for a cup of hot chocolate as the lasagne cooks.

I drive to MSP in the morning and then fly to SF to enjoy 50° and rain for a few days.
