I wonder what she means by early.

But if we're comparing cross-culturally and historically, it's probably more like 99%.

Now there's a subtle pun.

I binned the bloody print out. I'll look at someone else's next week. A few of my team who have breastfed said the main reason they stopped was them not latching on and other stuff. Never public attitude.

I don't mind women who breastfeed in public. What are they supposed to do, if the infant needs it and there's nowwhere elso to go?

I'm just a bit embarassed (for them) by those who do it in an ostentatious manner.
Like I'm in a mall, and there are plenty of benches hidden from people's view, where they could do it in a more discrete manner.
Yet you have the occasional person who parks her gear on the most visible bench and exposes her breasts for the whole world to see, not even trying to cover the parts that could be covered.

I'm not sure how many people actually admit to not doing something (anything, really) due to public attitude, which makes those statistics sort of inherently questionable in a way, anyway.

(Lies, damned lies, and...)

Exactly. Like they want you to challenge them. Pisses me off. If someone has to breastfeed in our building I have no problem with it, and any other customers who have and made a scene about it, I would ask them to leave. But I was once on the front desk of reception checking someone's ID and they were breastfeeding on the fucking counter, baby, tits and all. She could have sat back on the chairs and let her partner bring the documents to me. It was obvious she was enjoying putting on a show. Simple cunt.

Basically the upshot of the training was never ever ask them to cover up. Recently there was an incident in a Nottingham pharmacy where the pharmacist brought a blanket for the mother and baby. She put it all over Facebook when she got hom and he got tons of hate mail etc and eventually nearly lost his job. He was probably just an old fashioned fella who thought he was helping but it's been made out that he was discriminating against breastfeeders. Again it's a perfect example of PC gone fucking mad.

Public Attitude would be waaaayyyy down the list I would think. Insignificant even.

If I had to guess I would say going back to work, teeth coming in (uncomfortable), mother/kids health needs make up 99.9999 % of why most stop...

I have never actually met anyone who cared. I am sure they are out there. But they are probably as rare as the wack jobs who want to make a public spectacle of it to prove some point.

I think it's an entitlement thing.

Watch the way new mothers operate baby strollers sometime in a public space....the whole world is expected to part like the Red Sea.

1.My first experience of this sort was when I and my male cousins went to visit a relative who was still nursing.
At one point she just bared her breasts & started feeding her child.
She could have at least warned us or asked us not to look while she was doing it. Being just 13 or so, we all went beet red and were extremely embarassed.

2.PCness run amok.

Did ol' Tombstone Teeth leave?

I imagine he would like to see this done as a refresher, quarterly.

His interview is sometime in January. He lost his appeal last week. Trust me if he goes, there will be at least 7 threads. I'm trying to remain calm.

I don't mind seeing breast feeding at all. If anything i think it's kind of sweet to see a baby happily having it's meal. If a woman is happy to do it in public then , fine by me. I smile as I walk by. They are probably proud. I don't know because I couldn't do it myself, but I guess it feels quite amazing to have a baby and be able to feed it, like being a human ice cream van :) Good for them, it doesn't hurt me, I am not ashamed of having breasts i don't see why mothers should be. If you spend a lot of time breadt feeding mAybe you don't wing to sit tucked away, but where you have a view and some outside contact? Shrug, not a position I'll ever be in. Bitches don't mind when you watch puppies glue away and they seem to like it when you say they are good and clever girls, I like watching puppies eat. I don't think most women would like it if we said they were good and clever girls though, for breast feeding. I am happy to smile though, and say something nice about their baby if I can see something to compliment. I don't know about fetching a footstool for them.

There's some truths to what the man behind the curtain says. You may not be far enough removed to have an unbiased observation when the mouthpiece is to be spat out with a hair toss.
