Mostly it relates to intelligence, Gimp, and it's been sliding towards zero for a long time.

The discussions were higher grade...the insults were better...the humour was sharper...the drama was deeper....and there was a lot more creativity.

The smarter ones left in waves...lots of passionate litsters left during the Dryer Lint Exodus, for example.... Lavender and most of the intelligent women left when the GB was Playgroundized by the idiots who (for example) think the battle for who gets to name the next blurt thread is important.

More recently, the decision to Moderate and ban users and content on the GB has killed off another chunk of users and/or turned them into haters on the Alt/Ban/Refresh wheel every 50 posts.

As internet usage increased, the user base became increasingly reflective of the USA general population (that's never good for any product or service)....as a text-based site like this sunsets as a format, the user base becomes less current and increasingly backwater.
