Erm., that wasn't "Telstar" it was "Let there be drums". Not as foot-tapping as the original by Sandy Nelson:
Telstar, as I recall was like THIS.
I wonder how many folk remember what the title was really about ?
Safe trip!
(I also get nervous driving to new places, and doing new things.)

Don't we all, dear ?
Telstar was the name of the album and yes Sandy Nelson did a better job.
Telstar was the first comms satellite (TV, phone & Fax), launched 1962.

I think the album was launched the same years.![]()

Yeah, that's fun!![]()
Sandy Nelson is the God of Drums
Way back when, I thought that Ginger Baker was pretty good. Maybe not as good as some of the late bop jazz drummers, but pretty good. A few years ago, I saw him at a Cream 'reunion' concert at The Royal Albert Hall. He was still good. But I was leaning toward Charlie Charles, that now dear-departed drummer for The Blockheads.
Just my opinion.![]()
I wonder what they'd do with the full-sized jazz or even Rock drum kit ?
I'm not sure the drum kit could withstand that kind of playing.
Dear Universe, please get me through this day! WHY am I hosting a birthday party for the most racist and homophobic woman I know? Oh yeah, because she's my brother's girlfriend. *cries softly*
Do tell us more please.
