Dinner was awesome, dessert was particularly interesting, and lots of laughs all the way around (even the other tables).

which is something like:

a storm is blowing from Hell's maw
Probably for narrative reasons
to emphasize coldness of this scene
and it shakes the dark tower

Sunny skies and the yearly herring fair.

When at the fair, we ran into someone J went to university with. Turned out I went to highschool with the guy, too. Small world. I didn't remember him at all, but he remembered my name and everything. It was a bit unnerving. He and his girlfriend have moved nearby, so we made plans to get together at some point. It was especially funny that it happened, because I had only a few minutes earlier told J that we should invite someone over so that I have a reason to try a new recipe.
