there's a paragraph in there that almost directly mirrors what botany boy just said in the previous thread about how if we actually did go into the areas that are having a problem with guns and prosecuted people who are prohibited from having guns for carrying in order to get them off the street it would be considered racist. That's exactly what they are saying.

Ultimately that is irrelevant. The punishment for a given crime should be the same regardless of your sex or race. Your effectively stating "yeah, you will get it worse than me if we do the same thing. Remember you're not me." And you're not wrong, and I don't expect you to have sympathy. I expect people who claim to think justice is an ideal however to fix it.

You're looking for a fix outside the black community. That frankly is not possible. The problem has to be fixed from within or not at all.

Concentrated policing of the black community is a symptom not the problem. I will definitely grant you that it is exacerbated the problem and that increased incarceration rates have led to obviously increased single-parent households which again perpetuates the cycle and makes it worse but that was never the genesis of the problem.

Take for example the crack epidemic. Wasn't that crack did not find its way into white neighborhoods because of course it did then and now. But you did not see the debilitating effects on those communities that you saw in the black community. Greater wealth and prosperity made the addcts a little less noticeable to their neighbors. You didn't see crack houses springing up in white neighborhoods you didn't see Turf War battles being fought in white neighborhoods those examples of blight or what was being addressed by the police departments at the behest of people in the black community that initially complain that the police were looking the other way rather than doing something about those problems.
