"Hewitt: But he's not sympathetic to them. He hates them. He's trying to kill them.

Trump: I don't care. He was the founder. His, the way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS, OK?"

This not that hard to understand, people.

Trump is right!

He is WRONG to backtrack

He is WRONG to backtrack

How is he backtracking? He obviously believes Obama is responsible for the rise of ISIS. Has he changed his mind on that? Doesn't seem that way to me.

he says he meant it as sarcasm

he acts like a CLOWN

It was obviously not meant to be taken literally. Nobody with a brain could think it was. Same with Hillary's comment that Trump was a recruiter for ISIS. People need to get their heads out of their asses and understand political speech.

So even though Trump specifically said that he meant it literally, no one should take it literally?

I haven't seen him say he meant it literally. Can you quote him saying exactly that, in those words? I quoted him in an above post explaining what he meant rather clearly. He was obviously not saying Obama literally founded ISIS, but was responsible for its founding. You can disagree with his opinion about that, just as someone might disagree with Hillary's opinion that Trump was an ISIS recruiter, but it's all fair political speech. Get over it.

Glad to see he's spending all that time in CT and ME.

We'll be beyond argument when the results come back in November - but we can be fairly certain today that it's an idiotic strategy. ;)

Trump's only chance is that he's facing Hillary Clinton. A decent candidate would slaughter him in November. Of course, the reverse is true also. A decent candidate would slaughter Clinton.

You better read that again, Sparky. Not the CNN headline, but Trump's actual words, which I quoted earlier.

Ok...so now what?? He had several chances to clarify but insisted that was what he meant.

"DT: No, I meant he’s the founder of ISIS. I do."
"DT: I don’t care. He was the founder. His, the way he got out of Iraq was that that was the founding of ISIS, okay?"
"DT: No, it’s no mistake. Everyone’s liking it. I think they’re liking it. I give him the most valuable player award. And I give it to him, and I give it to, I gave the co-founder to Hillary. I don’t know if you heard that."

He made it very clear what he meant.

So we're in agreement, Donald meant full well what he said.

Yes, he did. Just like Hillary meant what she said about Trump. It's political hyperbole. Now get the fuck over it. It's politics. Is this your first exposure to a political campaign?

So anyway... back to the thread topic.

According to Fivethirtyeight, Clinton has a better shot at winning Missisippi than Trump has of winning Ohio.

This be weird times.

I almost feel badly for Trump supporters. They're going to have to atone for their actions after this election.

This will have devastating ramifications for Republican politicians, but also for voters who stood by Trump. They'd better be ready to take some bullets.

The Republicans sent a whole circus full of "decent" candidates against Trump, and he made them all look like little-leaguers.

This is it. This is what the GOP has to offer. This is what their party has become.

Hillary would slaughter anyone they ran against her now.

This isn't about me, this is about what Trump said.

Weird times, indeed. But don't believe most of these polls. I wouldn't trust most of them as far as I could throw them. I got polled the other day and the questions were obviously designed to get a response favorable to one side over the other. It was ridiculous.

How do you design the question "Who would you vote for for President" to get a response favorable to one side over the other?
