Divorce is exspensive

Depending on your situation it's a way to get out of misery that is worth every penny. Think longterm.

Oh I am not saying, it is not worth it, but in the end it is going to take a mininum of 50k.

Try to negotiate everything you can out of court, and save the lawyers/mediators for what you absolutely cannot agree on.

Mine was simple and cheap. I'm assuming the word amicable ins't involved in yours.

She took her stuff, I took mine. No lawyers.

We even sat beside each other when we went before the judge. He noted how amicable it was.

Mine was very cheap.
"I'll let you keep everything, so long as you pay for the divorce."
Done and dusted.

Obviously children weren't involved. Otherwise it's good bye retirement savings.

I think if you can eliminate Hate and Grudges, a divorce can go simply, even with children involved.

You can keep the kids. You can keep the house and the truck.

The dog is mine or we lawyer up.

Holy fuck.....

Mine only cost me about $150,000.00 USD...how much is you freedom and sanity worth? True, I will not be able to retire at 66 & 1/4 years but life is a gamble...

I've been through divorce twice. Once with children involved. Crippled me financially both times. Much simpler without children involved.

In Aust, the actual court dissolution is cheap as chips. It was $250 for a DIY amicable court appearance. The real money was spent finalising joint debt, sacrificing investments, liquifying assets at a loss and paying greedy lawyers for every pen-stroke on paper.

I'm married again now. I don't know if that makes me an optimist or a masochist.

Jesus, you must have left one helluva audit trail for your extramarital hookups!

I've never been married, and thus not divorced. I've heard it's a bitch though and it doesn't seem many people are able to keep it amicable.
