Jenny's Fantasy Cottage

The green one?
well, yes, that one, or my Baby Taylor. Haven't gotten used to that one yet. Needs new strings. So does my mandolin, for that matter. I got everything out last weekend and did an assessment of what needed what. I'm getting two new sets of guitar strings, a new set of mandolin strings, and a new set of violin strings.

Only thing..this had to come in waves. Those violin strings are Pirastro, and I thought they were expensive back in the day..
Holy cow!

I'll have to suck a few dicks before I can get them..:(
I'll probably get some cheapos until I can get good replacements..but they just don't sound the same.

You're a few levels above me, I can see. I have a classical Yamaha I've played since I was a kid. But the neck is wider and the action higher than on an acoustic, plus it's just a different sound. I want to learn more of a finger style of playing, which I think should be easier on the acoustic. I haven't touched it or bought strings for it in years - I've no clue what good ones are going to cost me.

good guitar strings won't set you back that much. Go to musiciansfriend dot com for some of the best prices I've seen. Violin strings can get pricey, though. You have traditional gut core, synthetic gut core, and steel core. .. Hell, ive got two bows that need repair, too.

I I'mm not very good, but I enjoy it.
