Here's something I find interesting. The word "mom' seems to be evolving in the video porn industry.

Obviously you hear mom, you think mom. taboo, mom/son mom daughter sex...your mom.

But that's not exclusive to incest. That's true of a lot of fictional stories. One could depict gruesome murder in a story while they would never actually partake in that action in real life, nor cheer for those actual acts. A person could write murder all day. Do you think they'd write about the murder of the people closest to them? Ah, let's hope not. That's when things get all squicky.

Just so, you can pen a story that's NOT murder, but actually, it is.

Keep in mind much of what happens in stories here is fantasy. Incest is still a major tension point, being that many are drawn to it and just as many are repulsed. I think some people want to keep some things in fantasy land.

I do think you're right about one thing though. Whether it's a kink of buried attraction to your actual family, or you just write about "a mom, a dad" and not "my mom, my dad", family is family. It qualifies as incest.

Well, if we are just talking about "having theme A in a story to represent theme B without actually touching B" then that is an age old thing. Victorian era English plays and novels talk about sex all the time while using double entrende and different kinds of "code words" that were used when they couldn't actually mention the real things.

There are lots of old Hollywood movies where they couldn't show characters having sex, or even mention it, so they also used substitute phrases and tricks. Like two male gangsters who are in their hideout and one of them complains that he is tired of eating nothing but sausages and the other says something like "sausages are all we have" and the scene is supposed to imply that the two are homosexual lovers (and it's not just that they have very limited food in their hideout and can't go grocery shopping because cops are looking for them.)

...But although it is fascinating to see what kind of messages people have hidden in their art when art has been censored I don't see the need to sidestep the taboo on a porn site where you can really write about sex and even incest. Unless it is an artistic choice or something.
